Greetings.
Environmental Science is an integration of knowledge from the disciplines of biological, physical and social sciences for understanding the human environment and the impact of human activities upon the environment. In recent years, there has been enormous progress in understanding the natural environment and the changes that occur as a result of human activities.
These changes in our natural environment have caused an alarming situation at all levels of the world community and it is feared that we may reach to a catastrophic end in near future. Hence, UN and the governments of both developed and underdeveloped world are keen about the solutions of environmental problems / issues and measures to check the degradation of environment.
This can only be achieved if we develop the capability to assess the impact of degradation of environment, their causal factors and possible counter measures. The significance of this world-wide problem initiated the study of environmental science, which enables us to consider the solutions and to find how these problems are interrelated to each other. It also provides ability to monitor and manage the impacts of human activities scientifically involving all related disciplines.
