Dr. A. H. S. Bukhari Postgraduate Centre of Information & Communication Technology
In 2020, Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT) was transformed into a Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) with Dr. A. H. S. Bukhari Postgraduate Centre of Information and Communication Technology and six departments being its constituents. Dr. A. H. S. Bukhari Postgraduate Centre of Information and Communication Technology is an independent postgraduate institute offering MS/MPhil programs in disciplines of Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication, and PhD degree program in Information Technology. More than 300 students are currently enrolled in all MS/ MPhil and PhD programs. Keeping in view the growing demand for Data Science professionals across the country and outside the country, a new program MS/MPhil in Data Science has also been introduced. This program is aimed at training students with theoretical and conceptual foundations of key Data Science concepts, which will enable them to apply this knowledge to solve interesting problems in various data intensive application domains.
Dr. A. H. S. Bukhari Postgraduate Centre of Information and Communication Technology is equipped with required infrastructure in terms of highly qualified faculty members (around 24 PhD faculty members who have earned their degrees from educationally advanced countries), research laboratories, multimedia facilities and a computerized internal library with latest edition books, journals and magazines. Existing infrastructure also provides access to various digital libraries including IEEE, ACM and Elsevier. Moreover, it has also its own “y” category HEC recognized research journal named as University of Sindh Journal of Information and Communication Technology (USJICT), which publishes novel research in the fields of engineering and technology.
The mission of Dr. A. H. S. Bukhari Postgraduate Centre of Information and Communication Technology is to provide dynamic learning with quality education through rigorous teaching and research methodologies in Engineering and Technology disciplines with an aim to forge professionals, experts, and research scholars in the field of Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunication and Data Science.
