Mission Statement

The Center for Rural Development Communication (CRDC), established in 2002, is Pakistan’s premier institution dedicated to advancing the field of rural development communication. The Center’s mission is to contribute to the socio-economic well-being of rural communities by addressing their communication and information challenges through research, education, and capacity building.

CRDC strives to:

  • Conduct research on communication issues and challenges affecting rural communities.
  • Organize training programs, workshops, and seminars to strengthen the communication capacities of rural development organizations.
  • Provide institutional support and consultancy for planning and implementing effective communication strategies.
  • Develop innovative communication models and tools that promote community participation in sustainable development.
  • • Foster collaboration among government institutions, civil society, policymakers, donors, and development practitioners.

  • Through its flagship BS Development Communication program and forthcoming Professional Diploma in Health Communication and Professional Diploma in Environmental Journalism CRDC aims to produce skilled communicators and researchers capable of shaping inclusive, informed, and sustainable rural development in Pakistan.
