Centre For Physical Education Health & Sports Science

The Centre for Physical Education, Health & Sports Science, University of Sindh, Jamshoro was established in 1990, Prof. Iqbal Ahmed Qureshi former Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences (2000-2003) was appointed as its Director. As a first step, a Master’s degree program “Master of Health & Physical Education” (M.H.P.E) was introduced and the first batch was admitted in August, 1991. Later, the two semester Bachelor degree program was also introduced to provide manpower skills in Physical Education to cater to the growing demand in secondary schools, colleges, universities and other national organizations. In addition, the Centre has introduced BS-HPE 4 year degree program in Health & Physical Education from the academic session 2005. The Centre also provided advance research oriented educational preparation for students who desire to pursue for M.Phil., Ph.D. in Health & Physical Education. Jamshoro is the site of the largest University residential campus in the country; recently it has acquired the status of district city. Interestingly, it is virtually the gateway to the Indus Valley, which is known world over for its civilization and rich cultural heritage. The capital city of Sindh Province- Karachi is at the distance of approximately 160 Km touching Arabian sea in southwest. The Shrine of famous Soofi Poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai is located at Bhitshah, about 40 minutes drive in north east, and Ranikot Fort is located 80 km. to the north of the campus. Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar\\'s Shrine is located at Sehwan Sharif at about 90 minutes derive from Jamshoro.
