Students Financial Aid Office

INTRODUCTION

  • The Students’ Financial Aid Office (SFAO) was established at the University of Sindh in 2013.
  • The SFAO operates under the motto that no student should leave the University without earning a degree due to financial hardship.
  • Consequently, the University of Sindh established a separate Students’ Financial Aid Office (SFAO) to support meritorious and financially needy students through financial assistance provided by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), government scholarships, and other donor agencies.
  • At present, the Students’ Financial Aid Office (SFAO) is located in the New Administration Block of the University. The office operates under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jariko and under the patronage of Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, Vice Chancellor, who firmly believes that no deserving student should be deprived of higher education because of financial constraints. Therefore, the office performs its responsibilities with the highest priority.

  • To provide eligible students with opportunities to excel in various fields of life.
  • To enhance the public image and reputation of the University.
  • To help qualified students pursue their career goals and fulfill their aspirations.
  • To provide deserving students with a platform to build a better future for themselves and their families.

Financial Aid Office Objectives

  • To assist students in identifying and applying for various scholarships and to ensure they maintain the required merit and eligibility criteria after receiving financial assistance.
  • To provide proactive and responsive financial aid counseling.
  • To offer a wide range of financial aid programs and services that enable students to pursue their educational goals without financial barriers.
  • To encourage students to apply for external scholarship opportunities.

Functions of the SFAO

  • To provide financial assistance to meritorious and financially deserving students.
  • To deliver quality services by addressing and responding promptly to students\\' inquiries.
  • To implement effective procedures to ensure that financial assistance is distributed fairly and transparently among deserving students.
  • To comply with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies of the University, the Students’ Financial Aid Office, and the respective donor agencies.
  • To provide special consideration and support to students with disabilities and orphan students.
