Dr. Riffat Sultana
Professor & Chairperson
My Dear Students,
As Chairperson, Department of Zoology, I want to encourage you to remain focused, punctual, and committed to learning—both in theory and in practical work. Please make full use of our laboratories, museums, field-based learning, seminars, and research culture to build strong scientific skills and professional confidence.
Remember, Zoology is a discipline with versatile and meaningful career pathways. Graduates of the Department effectively meet the human-resource needs of the Educational Department and are readily employed as Zoology teachers in schools, colleges, and universities. They also have diverse career opportunities as entomologists in the Department of Agriculture, Plant Protection, and extension wings, as well as in Fisheries, the Zoological Survey, zoological gardens and safari parks, the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR), the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and wildlife conservation and management organizations such as WWF and IUCN, in addition to public and private sector pathological laboratories.
Your future is full of possibilities—what matters most is your discipline, consistency, and willingness to learn. Stay curious, stay committed, and represent the Department with pride and professionalism wherever you go.
With best wishes
