Department of Mass Communication
INTRODUCTION
The Department (formerly, Department of Journalism) has been preparing students for successful careers in the field since its founding in 1977. In fact it is the only institution offering courses in four years (8 Semesters) Bachelor Program in Mass Communication to the people of rural Sindh. This program is broadly based studies designed for those who desire to specialize academic preparation with professional application in the field of Mass Media. This is aimed at increasing the students’ understanding of communication theory, research and skills to facilitate maturation in the area. The students are required to write report reflecting scholarly and independent thought. Under this program students are treated as Journalists and Media men who would one day be called upon to accept responsibilities in administrative or supervisory positions.
