Research facilities availabe at the Centre for Pure and Applied Geology

As far as the research trend and available facilities at the University of Sindh are concerned; almost all the Academic and Research units of the University are equipped with certain instrumentation to conduct the research activities.

The Centre for Pure and Applied Geology is equipped with the following main instruments alongwith certain other instrument used for conducting Research at advanced level:

1-   XRD ( X-ray diffraction)
2-   XRF (X-ray flouresence)
3-   SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope)
4-   AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrometer)
5-   ABEM Seismograph
6-   Latest microscopes with the facility of conducting mico photography
7-   GPR (Ground Penetration Radar)
8-   ABEM Lund Imaging System ( Used for subsurface resistivity imaging)
9-   Terrameter
10- Thin Section preparation Unit
11- Well equipped GIS and Computing Lab
12- GPS (Global Positioning System) and satellite imageries of the globe

Beside these major facilities we also have a number of other utilities for research purpose.

The Researchers at the University of Sindh are hereby informed of the above facilities and they can utilize these facilities, and the researchers of other than University of Sindh may also get benefited by these facilities at very nominal charges.
