Dr. Mughal addressed University teachers and employees after joining at the University on Friday after completing his leave.
The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Professor Dr. Nazir A.Mughal has invited teachers and employees to join hands for the upliftment of the University of Sindh, the remaining problems of the employees would be resolved within 10 days, boycott of teaching is great loss of education, youth and Nation. He was addressing University teachers and employees at his office and at the University’s Senate Hall in a gathering with employees and faculty after joining at the University on Friday after completing his leave. All Pro Vice Chancellors of the Campuses, Deans of the Faculties, a large number faculty members, Officers and employees, member SUTA Executive Council Syed Ihsan Rashdi from Faculty of education met with Vice Chancellor and congratulated him on joining again in the University. Dr. Mughal while meeting with the faculty members and employees said that he is always positive and has no adversary with any one and invited representatives of SUTA and SEWA to come and sit with him on dialogue table and if he commit any mistake on his part he will apologize on those mistakes. He said that boycotting of classes and academic programs, forcibly stropping employees from joining offices is not a civilized way and added that we must sit together to solve the issues. He said that his doors of office are always open for them. He said that we must respect the system and discipline and earn the respect and added that being teacher it is their moral duty to fulfill obligations as assigned on them. Dr. Mughal pointed out that he had resolved 31 issues out of 35 submitted by the employees and added that issue of the allotment of land for 3rd phase would also be resolved within couple of days. Dr. Mughal said that he had already allocated Rs. 3 crore for the purchase of land for 3rd phase to be allotted residential plots to faculty and employees and added that during his leave he also perused the matter at the concerned quarters. Dr. Mughal said that his message to the SUTA is to come and join dialogue and do not damage the name of the University on the own interests and added that we must collectively work for the betterment of the University. Dr. Mughal also highlighted his efforts taken during his two years and said that his all efforts were addressed to raise the image of the University and for the academic excellence. He said that his top priority is to achieve the academic excellence for the brighter future of youth, uipliftment of the University. Prof. Dr. Parveen Shah while speaking at the gathering at Senate Hall warmly welcomed Dr . Mughal on joining as Vice Chancellor. She said that she during her tenure also worked for the University on lines set by Dr. Mughal. Syed Ihsan Rashidi member of SUTA Executive Council welcomed the Vice Chancellor and appealed to the SUTA to jointly work for the University development. He apologize on joining of protest as previously organized by SUTA and said that he realized that protest and boycotting of classes was a a great loss of education. Tasleem Mirza and Ghulam Rasool Chandio Leaders of SEWA (Shahbaz Group) also expressed their views and appealed the Vice Chancellor to resolve the problem of the employees. While addressing a Press Conference at his office Sindh University Vice Chancellor Dr. Nazir A.Mughal appealed the teachers community, intellectuals and educationists as well as students and parents to join his hands for the development of the University for rising of the name of an Alma Matter. He said that we are living in 21st Century which is full of the competition and added that we must educate and trained our youth that after getting degree they perform well in competition world. Dr. Mughal also appealed Media to help for the betterment of the University and publish the news reports after verification of the facts. He said that his top priority is to uplift the University through improvement in the existing system. He said that monitoring committee will be activated and added that the purpose behind organizing All Parties Conference was to seek help from the political parties and society.
