The acting Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr. Parveen Shah has said that every stakeholder of the University has to cooperate for bringing peace at campus and for smooth running of the academic activities in the interest of the University and youth.
She was speaking during a meeting convenened on Monday for the improvement of law and order and to review the security arrangements taken for security at the campus.
The meeting was attended by Pro Vice Chancellors of the campuses, Deans of the Faculties, Registrar, Provosts of Boys and Girls Hostels, Director Security while office bearers of SUTA were also invited in the meeting but they refused to attend the meeting.
The acting Vice Chancellor briefed the meeting regarding security measures at the campus and said that the main purpose of the convening of the meeting for the improvement of law and order aiming to sought suggestions for more betterment of the campus security. She further informed that office bearers of SUTA were also invited in this meeting but they refused and said that they will hold meeting with the acting Vice Chancellor only.
In early morning Dr. Shah informed that she also rounded the campus and inspected the security measures at the teaching institutes and departments at the campus. She informed that security system has been improved due to vigilant security arrangements including checking of vehicles at the entrances and allowing vehicles of University teachers, employees and private vehicles from separate routes.
The meeting discussed the security arrangements on short term and long term perspective to be taken by the University administration.
The meeting in terms of fool proof security decided strict measures for parking of private vehicles at parking area by maintaining record of private and vehicles of visitors, display of students cards by the university students and adoption of checking system at the campus.
The meeting also decided that after the academic activities in every evening various roads including Vice Chancellor road, Station road from Microbiology department and entry and exist from different routes will be closed for general public.
The meeting also constituted a five members committee headed by Mr. Agha Riaz Hassan Professor Incharge Transport to prepare parking plan for the private vehicles.
Meanwhile academic activities in various teaching institutes and departments of the University continued on Monday. The acting Vice Chancellor Dr. Parveen Shah inspected the academic activities at the campus in early morning on Monday.
