The Deans Committee meeting was convened by the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr. Nazir A.Mughal on Thursday to review the arrangements for the commencement of the regular classes also on Friday at the Campus.
The meeting was attended by the Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Parveen Shah, Pro Vice Chancellor Sindh University Campus Dadu Dr. Anwar Ali Shah, Deans of the Faculties Dr. Muhammad Tahir Rajput Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences, Dr. Abida Tahrani Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Noor Afroz Khowaja Dean Faculty of Arts, Dr. Sanaullah Bhutto Dean Faculty of Islamic Studies, Dr. Noor Muhammad Jamali Dean Faculty of
Commerce and Business Administration, Akhtar Ahmed Memon Registrar and Muhammad Nawaz Narejo Controller of Examination.
The meeting reviewed the arrangements for regular classes and academic activities at the campus and decided that classes will regular commence even single student is present in the class. The meeting expressed deep concern over the forcibly stopping to students from attending the classes and teachers from taking the classes by the agitating group of teachers. The meeting further decided to take more strict security measures at the Campus as well as outside of the teaching departments to avoid from any disturbances during the classes. The meeting also decided that Deans, as well as Heads of the departments will take the classes and will also monitor strictly that the Teaching Assistants are also taking classes or not.
The Deans of the Faculties informed the Vice Chancellor that there are certain students who wish to attend their classes. The meeting observed that as the judicial inquiry is already initiated therefore there is no need that the teachers agitate or stop the classes. The Deans informed that there is low attendance of the students in their classes but they are trying to take classes even single student is coming in the class. The Vice Chancellor said that taking classes is moral duty of the teachers and added that the teachers must realize the loss of the education of the students. He said that the teacher should have to respond positively on the appeals of the students, parents as well as society and discharge their duties.
The Deans of the Faculties of the University however have advised the students to attend classes regularly and added that classes will commence regularly even single students would be present in their classes.
