The Deans Committee meeting was convened by the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr. Nazir A.Mughal on Thursday to review the arrangements for the commencement of the regular classes also on Friday at the Campus.
The meeting was attended by the Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Parveen Shah, Pro Vice Chancellor Sindh University Campus Dadu Dr. Anwar Ali Shah, Deans of the Faculties Dr. Muhammad Tahir Rajput Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences, Dr. Abida Tahrani Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Noor Afroz Khowaja Dean Faculty of Arts, Dr. Sanaullah Bhutto Dean Faculty of Islamic Studies, Dr. Noor Muhammad Jamali Dean Faculty of
Commerce and Business Administration, Akhtar Ahmed Memon Registrar and Muhammad Nawaz Narejo Controller of Examination.
The meeting reviewed the arrangements for regular classes and academic activities at the campus and decided that classes will regular commence even single student is present in the class. The meeting expressed deep concern over the forcibly stopping to students from attending the classes and teachers from taking the classes by the agitating group of teachers. The meeting further decided to take more strict security measures at the Campus as well as outside of the teaching departments to avoid from any disturbances during the classes. The meeting also decided that  Deans, as well as Heads of the departments will take the classes and will also monitor strictly that the Teaching Assistants are also taking classes or  not.
The Deans of the Faculties informed the Vice Chancellor that there are certain students who wish to attend their classes. The meeting observed that as the judicial inquiry is already initiated therefore there is no need that the teachers agitate or stop the classes. The Deans informed that there is low attendance of the students in their classes but they are trying to take classes even single student is coming in the class. The Vice Chancellor said that taking classes is moral duty of the teachers and added that the teachers must realize the loss of the education of the students. He said that the teacher should have to respond positively on the appeals of the students, parents as well as society and discharge their duties.
The Deans of the Faculties of the University however have advised the students to attend classes regularly and added that classes will commence regularly even single students would be present in their classes.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof. Dr. Nazir A.Mughal handed over 2 cheques of Rs.One million ( Rs. 5 lac each) for financial assistance of two widow’s of Prof. Bashir Ahmed Channer Director Students Affairs who was shot dead on January,02.
The cheques were received by Mr. Aziz Channer and Mr. Muhammad Dawood Channer sons of Prof. Channer. The Vice Chancellor also offered his cooperation and all assistance to the family of Prof. Channer on his and on behalf of the University.
The sons of Prof. Channer expressed their thanks to the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh. The Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Parveen Shah, Deans of the Faculties, Registrar, Director Finance and others concerned officials were also present on the occasion.

The Controller of Examinations University of Sindh has announced the results of BS first year, second year, third year and fourth year under semester examination 2011 of Freshwater Biology and Fisheries on Wednesday.
The University has also notified the results of M.Sc previous Environmental Sciences, Home Economics, M.A Previous of Women Development Studies, Pakistan Studies and M.A (Pass) Final Women Development Studies, Pakistan Studies Semester Examination 2011.

The Registrar University of Sindh after scrutiny of nomination forms has notified the names of candidates contesting election for Sindh University Syndicate membership.  According to notification issued by the Registrar who is also Election Officer  on Wednesday,  that after due scrutiny the nomination forms of 5 Professors, four associate professors, 7 assistant professors and six lecturers have been found in proper and having accepted for contesting of election for one seat of each category.   According to notification, for one seat of syndicate for category of Professor, five nomination forms of Prof. Dr. Sher Muhammad Magrio, Prof. Dr. Naeem Tarique Narejo, Prof. Dr. Imdad Ali Brohi, Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Soomro and Prof. Dr. Sarfraz Hussain Solangi have been found in proper and having accepted for contesting of election. For the one seat of Associate professor, nomination forms of four Associate professors Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Mastoi, Dr. Agha Asad Noor, Agha Riaz Hassan and Syed Anwar Ali Shah,  nomination forms of seven Assistant Professors Muhammad Ishaq , Badaruddin Soomro, Muhammad Akram Ansari, Umed Ali Rind, Dr. Ayaz Keerio, Dr. Altaf Hussain Nizamani and Dr. Nabi Bux Narejo  while for the category of one seat of Lecturer, nomination forms of six Lecturers Akhtar Hussain Markhand, Muhammad Rafiq Daudpota, Shahmurad Chandio, Ms Sadia Anwar, Imran Ali Halepoto and Muhammad Ali Ghoto have been found in proper and accepted for contesting the election.
It is pointed out that the election of the syndicate is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, February, 29.

3rd one day National Conference on “Coal Potential Asset for Energy Needs” at The Centre for Pure & Applied Geology, University of Sindh has been postponed and new date will be announced later on.

The Embassy invites Pakistani youth and students to design an original and attractive, yet meaningful, logo for its official website. The logo should be indicative o f the good friendship between Pakistan and Korea.
Pakistani under the age of 30 are requested to conceptualize and design the logo and send their completed diagrams in jpeg format by email to koreanembassylogo@gmail.com. Please include your full name, contact details and mailing address in your email. Also keep in mind that the logo and its message should be clearly visible when presented in 2.5cm square when viewed from a distance of 30cm.
Last date for submitting entries is the 1st March, 2012.
