University of Sindh, Jamshoro has re-scheduled the screening test and interview date for the post of Teaching Assistant at the Department of International Relations. The new date is 21-01-2012 at 9:00 am at the Chairperson office, Department of International Relations.

The University of Sindh is holding one day International Seminar on Maintaining International Peace and Security in the 21st Century:  Impact on South Asia on January,20 at Karachi. A number of scholars from Pakistan and abroad will present their papers. The Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan will be Chief Guest and will inaugurate the seminar.

The Controller of Examinations University of Sindh has announced on Monday that the Viva Voce examination of M.A Final for the external candidates in all subjects of Annual Examination 2011 will be conducted from January,23.

University of Sindh, Jamshoro has announced that the screening test and interview of Teaching Assistant for the Department of International Relations will be held on 20-01-2012 at 09.30 am at the Chairperson office, Department of International Relations, University of Sindh, Jamshoro.

The teachers of the University of Sindh honoring the public demand should start teaching in their classes immediately and avoid the educational loss of the students further.
This was resolved in a high level meeting of all Pro Vice Chancellors of the Campuses and Deans of the Faculties of the University preside over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazir A.Mughal on Monday.
The Vice Chancellor on this occasion expressed great concern and said that the society on the whole has been looking to the academia of the University that what role is playing for the academic activities. He said that main purpose of the calling of the meeting of academic
heads was to discuss the issue of conducting of classes and added that various forums including the Syndicate  has observed that students should not penalized because the loss of  education  is loss of the Nation.
He said that demands of teachers are nothing with the non functioning of the teaching classes and added that they must realize their duties and should resume their classes. He said that SUTA is a welfare body therefore they should realize the welfare of the students who come for the education in the university mainly. He said that being an academia we should have to change the value and change the culture. The Vice Chancellor also briefed the meeting about progress of All Parties Conference, Monitoring Committee, meeting of
syndicate recently held and demands of the teachers. The Vice Chancellor also briefed the meeting  towards progress in formation of Sindh University Students Welfare Association.
The meeting also discussed the security arrangements at the campus and security wall around the campus.
The Vice Chancellor said that the Pro Vice Chancellors and Deans who are the senior faculty  should play their due role that teaching in full strength can be resumed that further loss of teaching of the students can be avoided.
The Pro Vice Chancellors of the Campuses and various Deans of the Faculties informed the Vice Chancellor that at the Campuses and in some of their departments the teachers have  already started teaching on Monday and added that  a good  attendance of the  students was observed in the classes. Meanwhile the Vice Chancellor also convened the law and order meeting to ensure the measures taken for the security at the campus. The meeting was attended by the all Pro Vice Chancellors of the Campuses, Deans of the Faculties, Registrar and Police and Rangers Officials.
The meeting also discussed the further measures for ensuring the security at the campus.
The meeting decided the immediate deployment of  police and Security Guards of the University at the main entrances of the Campus along with patrolling of Police and Rangers at the Campus.
The Vice Chancellor also constituted a 5 member committee headed by Pro Vice Chancellor Mirpurkhas Campus Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili for preparing of full and detail report towards security measures for ensuring  of  security at the campus.

            Sindh University Syndicate in its emergent meeting on Thursday while appreciating steps taken by the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr. Nazir A.Mughal for grieved family of Prof. Bashir Ahmed Channer Director Students Affairs of the University approved Rs. 1 Million as financial assistance for grieved family. The emergency meeting was convened on Thursday which meet  at the Provincial Election Commission Office Sindh Karachi presided over by  Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Nazir A.Mughal. The meeting expressed deep sorrow and condemned strongly the assassination of Prof. Channer and offered fateha. The meeting expressed grief and offered fateha for Pir Sahib Pagara Shah Mardan Shah. The meeting also approved the actions taken by the Vice Chancellor which includes naming the department as Shaheed Prof. Bashir Ahmed Channer Department of Microbiology, tow jobs to sons/daughter, full fee waiver to two daughters of Prof. Channer. The meeting also expressed thanks to the Governor Sindh/ Chancellor for taking serious view of the incident allowed the request  made by the Vice Chancellor to hold a judicial enquiry to probe the assassination  of Prof. Channer.

The Syndicate meeting took serious notice of non academic attitude of agitating teachers of the University and directed them to resume classes immediately. The Syndicate further authorized the Vice Chancellor to take disciplinary action against Dr. Azhar Hussain Shah and Dr. Arfana Mallah both Assistant professors of the University on account of their non academic attitude.

 The meeting was attended by Mr. Justcie ( Retd) Hamid Ali Mirza, Mr. Mumtaz Rehman Khan, Dr. Nelofer Shaikh,  Dr. Asad Ullah Larik, Dr. Abdul Sattar Ansari, Dr. Mumtaz Bhutto, Dr. Parveen Shah, Dr. Anwar Ali Shah, Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili, Advoctae Jhamat Jethanand , Prof. Ahmed Ali Shaikh and Registrar Akhtar Ahmed Memon, Madam Aftab Inayat  and others.
