Pre entry test for admissions to Bachelors degree program in various disciplines at University of Sindh was conducted on Saturday, 19th November.

11959 candidates appeared for pre entry test for admissions to Bachelors Degree Program in the University of Sindh for academic session 2012 here on Saturday. Among  11959 candidates, 2005 female and 9954 male candidates appeared in pre entry test for admissions to Bachelors degree program under 54 disciplines. Pre entry test was conducted at 216 examination blocks at the Faculty of Arts, Institute of English Language and Literature and Department of Mass Communication buildings located at   Allama I.I.Kazi Campus Jamshoro. Pre entry test was conducted in a very well discipline manner with key steps towards seating arrangements separate for male and female candidates, security as well transport arrangements for the candidates from Hyderabad to campus.  All 216 examinations blocks were connected with a centralized sound system control rooms from where the instructions were broadcasted for guidance of candidates in Sindhi Urdu and English languages. Seating arrangements was also made for the parents of the candidates at Fatima Jinnah Gymnasium at Vice Chancellor Road at the campus. The point buses from different routs of Hyderabad, latifabad and Kotri were plied to provide pick and drop facility to the candidates. Before starting of pre entry test admit cards of the candidates were checked at the main entrances of all examination blocks where all senior faculty members deputed as Head Invigilators and Invigilators. Proceedings of test started after recitation from Holy Qurran recited by Prof. Hafiz Manzoor Ahmed Shaikh. The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Mughal while addressing the candidates welcomed them from the control room. He said that conduct of pre entry test aimed to prove the merit by the candidates through pre entry test for achievement   of admission to their choice. I am extremely happy to see such a large gathering of aspirants of University education, eager to write pre entry test to ensure their selection for one of the program being offered by the University Dr. Mughal said. He said that higher education is indispensable for development and added that enthusiasm for University degree is very welcome sign for the economic development of the community and country. This pre entry test provides opportunity to the candidates to prove merit for the discipline of their choice Dr. Mughal said adding that it helps the University to select all University-potential candidates as for as University’s limited resources permit. It may interest you to learn that pre entry test for admission in public sector Universities was pioneered by Sindh University way back in 1996 in his first tenure Dr. Mughal said and added that with ever increasing number of aspirants it is now being followed by all Universities. He appreciated discipline among candidates appeared in pre entry test and efforts made by the University employees for success to the pre entry test event. The Vice Chancellor accompanied by pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Parveen Shah, Deans of the Faculties Dr. Muhammad Tahir Rajput, Dr. Noor Afroz Khowaja, Dr. Abdullah Dayo, Dr. Sannaullah Bhutto, Dr. Parveen Munshi, Prof. Bashir Ahmed Shaikh, Dr. Noor Muhammad Jamali, Registrar Akhtar Ahmed Memon, Advisor Planning and Development Dr. Muhammad Hussain Sheikh visited all examination blocks and inspected the pre entry test arrangements. Prof. Dr. Marhab Qasmi, Dr. Arfana Mallah and Dr. Mahmoodul Hassan Mughal were members of announcement committee who broadcast instruction in three languages from the control room. The Police, Rangers and Sindh university security guards performing duties for security arrangements. The University also had made first aid arrangements with availability of Medical doctor and ambulance during the test. It is pertinent to mentioned here that 10508 candidates, 8546 male and 1962 female candidates had appeared in pre entry test for admissions to academic session 2011.
