Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair will organize one day international conference on Vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto : Democracy and Prosperity in last week of January,2012 at Sindh University and scholars from Country and abroad will be invited to attend and present papers. The decision in this regard was taken by first meeting of Board of Governors of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair University of Sindh presided over by Chairman Senate and Chairman Board of Governors of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair Mr. Farooq H.Naek here on Saturday. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Nazir A.Mughal Vice Chancellor University of Sindh and Co-chairman Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair, Speaker Provincial Assembly Sindh Mr. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Mr. Justice Agha Rafiq Ahmed Khan Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan, Principal Secretary of Governor Sindh Mr. Mumtaz Rehman, Dr. Mumtaz Bhutto , Federal Director General Culture Abdul Kareem Ansari, Director General Culture Sindh Muhammad Ramzan. The Pro Vice Chancellors of University’s campuses Dr. Raffia Ahmed Shaikh, Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili and acting Pro Vice Chancellor of main campus Dr.Muhammad Hussain Shaikh also attended the meeting. The meeting offered fateha for Begum Nusrat Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. The meeting approved to appoint a working committee to monitor the implemenmetation of decisions of the BOG and report to the meeting of the Board of Governors. Speaking on this occasion the Chairman Senate Mr. Farooq H.Naek said that there can be no greater honour than carrying forward the philosophy and mission of visionary leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto who undoubtly a colossus Asian Leaders indomitable courage to lay down her life for the liberation of masses. He said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was no ordinary persona, she was an institution and a great proponent of progressive thinking, social uplift and democratic rule and added that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto promoted the soft image of Pakistan at international level. Mr. Farooq H.Naek said that, as Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto tried to spread education among girls, built tens of thousands of schools and recruited one hundred thousand teachers, seventy thousand of whom were women and added that she appointed women to superior judiciary, believing that gender equality was essential to the dispensation of justice. She thought and implemented her idea of a bank for women run by women Mr. Farooq H.Naek said. He further said that Government led by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto made Pakistan polio free for the first time and lifted ban on women in sports. He said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s life was highly inspiring and moving tale of incessant struggle, pain of personal losses and supreme sacrifices and an unconquerable will to achieve her lofty goals for the betterment of her countrymen, not matter what the cost. Mr. Farooq H.Naek said that Shaeed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto firmly believed that reconciliation was necessary to promote and sustain democracy in Pakistan in the wake of successive authoritarian rule and added that towards this end, she singed the historic charter of democracy with PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif. This land mark agreement is anchored in the notion of political reconciliation and in spirit of futuristic cooperation. The Senate Chairman said that for Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, democracy was the best revenge. He said that it wasn’t just political reconciliation within Pakistan that she cherished. Her vision of reconciliation was much broader and global in nature and very far reaching He said and added that she also aimed to trace the roots, causes and potential solutions to the crisis between the Muslim world and West. Mr. Farooq H.Naek said that establishment of Chair to facilitate research on the life and role of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto in the areas of democratic governance, human rights and socio-economic justice and promotion of international and regional peace and stability is the step in the right direction to achieve these goals. The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh and Co-chairman of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair Dr. Nazir A.Mughal speaking on this occasion highlighted progress of the chair. He said that work of the construction of buildings of chair and convention center is in progress and due to shortage of funds the construction work was delayed. He said that by the end of December 2011 the construction work of buildings of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair and Convention center will be completed. Highlighting University’s research and academic programs Dr. Mughal said that the University has singed linkage programs with 16 foreign Universities in different disciplines to promote research and academic exchange programs. Dr. Mughal said that presently 23000 students are studying in the University while large number scholars are engaged in M.Phil and Ph.D programs. Dr. Muhammad Hussain Shaikh on this occasion presented a presentation about University and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair’s research programs. The Chairman Senate along with members of the Board of Governors of Chair visited and inspected the buildings of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair and Convention center.

Pre entry test for admissions to Masters, MS and M.Phil degree programs was conducted at the Faculty of Arts building by the Sindh University testing center

3864 candidates appeared in pre entry test for admissions to Masters, MS and M.Phil degree programs at the University of Sindh for its academic session 2012 in a discipline and peaceful environment here on Sunday. Pre entry test was conducted at the Faculty of Arts building by the Sindh University testing center under the supervision of the Pro Vice Chancellors and Deans Committee. Among 3864 candidates, 2994 candidates including 2238 male and 756 female candidates appeared for entry test for admissions to 57 disciplines under morning and evening for Masters while 880 candidates including 630 male and 250 female candidates appeared for MS/M.Phil degree programs. Total 20% number of candidates compared to academic session 2011 have been increased for academic session 2012 under Maters and M.Phil degree program. The University of Sindh took vigilant security measures at the campus and provided transport facility to candidates from various routes of Hyderabad City. A special point buses were also plied from zero point of the Campus to Faculty of arts to provide pick and drop facility to the girls students. A centralized sound system was setup and was connected it with all examination blocks. For the guidance of the candidates instructions were broadcasted in Sindhi, Urdu and English from the centralized sound system room. In a systemic and in a discipline wise seating arrangement were made for candidates and as per admit card, the candidates seated at their examination blocks. The Pro Vice Chancellor Sindh University Campus Mirpurkhas Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili welcomed the candidates and highlighted important aspects of the entry test. He informed that the University of Sindh started pre entry test in first among public sector Universities followed by all other institutes and Universities in the Country. Dr. Ismaili along with acting pro Vice Chancellor of main campus Dr. Muhammad Hussain Shaikh as well as Deans of the Faculties, Registrar Akhtar Ahmed Memon and Acting Dean Research Dr. Muhammad Raees visited all examination blocks from time to time and inspected the arrangements. The pre entry test was conducted on OMR sheets while examination paper was comprises of 100 questions of the related subject, English and general knowledge. An a separate arrangements were made for the parents at the campus as well as first aid medical facility along-with medical doctors for any emergency purpose was made available .

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr. Nazir A.Mughal has expressed deep grief and sorrow on sad demise of Begum Nusrat Bhutto.

In a condolence message while paying rich tribute on great services of Begum Nusrat Bhutto for the restoration of democracy, Dr. Mughal said that Begum Bhutto played an historical role for democracy in the Country. He said that people of Pakistan would always remember the struggle of Begum Nusrat Bhutto.

The Controller of Examinations University of Sindh has announced on Tuesday that college side annual examination of 2011 of candidates of B.A part-I and Part-II of  Regular and /External candidates , B.Sc, B.Com, B.Sc Home Economics part-I and Part-II examination of Regular candidates will be conducted from December,01.

It is further notified that annual examination 2011 of M.A Previous and M.A Final of external candidates will also be conducted from December, 01.

Eid advance for the employees of University of Sindh.

The University of Sindh authorities have approved one month basic pay for all employees of BPS 2 to 16  and half basic pay of month for all faculty members and Officers of BPS-17 to 22 on account of Eid-ul-Uzha  to be paid on November,01.

The Director Admissions University of Sindh has notified the schedule for pre entry test for admissions to Bachelors, Masters and MS/M.Phil degree programs for academic session 2012.

According to notification issued on Friday the pre entry test for admissions to Masters (Morning and Evening) and M.PS/M.Phil degree programs will be conducted on October, 30.

It is further announced that pre entry test for MBA program at Sindh University Laar Campus Badin and Sindh University Campus Dadu will also be conducted on October,  30.

Pre entry test for admissions to Bachelors degree program (Morning and Evening) in the University as well as all three campuses of Sindh University Campus Badin, Mirpurkhas and Dadu will be conducted on November, 19.
