The employees of University of Sindh who bring their vehicles/motorbikes inside the Campuses, have to obtain the entry pass stickers from Directorate of Campus Security.

The Executive Committee, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, in order to maintain security as well as safe and sound atmosphere at all the Campuses of University of Sindh, has unanimously taken a decision that no vehicles/motorbikes will be allowed to enter inside the Campuses of University of Sindh without thorough checking of the vehicles/bikes at entry points of the Campuses. Only the vehicles/bikes will be allowed without checking who will have stickers embossed on the windshields of their vehicles.

Therefore, this is being circulated for all the employees of University of Sindh who bring their vehicles/motorbikes inside the Campuses, that they can obtain the entry pass stickers from Directorate of Campus Security, University of Sindh Jamshoro, without any cost, only by submitting an application on the prescribed application.

The 20th All Pakistan Bi-Lingual Declamation contest 2011.

The 20th All Pakistan Bi-Lingual Declamation contest 2011 is scheduled to be held on Saturday October29, 2011at 9.oo A.M, in the Cadet College Petaro.

In this regard Bureau of STAGS is going to conduct trials of the students on October 04, 2011, at 11.00 A.M in the office of the Advisor, Bureau of STAGS for selection of talented students Male/Female for participation.

Rules and Regulations for trials:

  1. The duration of speech will be from 04 to 05 minutes. The first bell rung after 04 minutes, while the second after 05 minutes, the speaker must finish the speech, otherwise he/she will be asked to leave the Rostrum.
  2. They should refrain from passing any derogatory or indecent remarks against renowned personalities, politicians, religious sects and participants of the declamation contest.
  3. If speaker violates the rules or his/her speech is found objectionable, the stage secretary may request him/her either to withdrawn his/her remarks or leave the stage whichever of the two is considered appropriate.
  4. The decision of the selection committee will be final.

Institutes / Departments / Centers heads are requested to send the nominations of two suitable students male/female (one for english and one for urdu) on or before October 03, 2011 to the Advisor, Bureau of Stags.

The students nominated by sectional head may please be advised to select any one of the following topics for trial:

The University of Sindh has declared every Saturday as official holiday.

The University of Sindh has declared every Saturday as official holiday and notified new office timings during winter with effect from October, 01. According a notification issued by the Registrar on Wednesday said that the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr. Nazir A.Mughal has approved an official holiday on every Saturday in order to save the utility of energy, fuel and water, etc a dire need of the nation. Subsequently, the University will observe the new office timings during winter from Monday to Friday being working days with effect from Saturday, October,01,201. According to notification during all working days from Monday to Friday new timings of Administration will be from 8.30 am to 4.15 pm while timings of the teaching departments during all working day from Monday to Friday will be from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. On Friday prayer break would be from 1.45 pm to 2.15 pm.

Inter departmental Badminton Championship was won by the Institute of Information and Communication Technology ( IICT) from the department of Public Administration.

Inter departmental Badminton Championship was won by the Institute of Information and Communication Technology ( IICT) from the department of Public Administration on Wednesday.

First semi final was played between students of Institute of English Language and Literature and Public Administration which was won by the department of Public Administration by ( 2-0) and reached in final. Second semi final was played between Center for Health Physical Education and Sport Science ( CHPESS) and Institute of Information and Communication Technology. The semi final won IICT by (2-0) and reached in final.

Team of department of Public Administration got 2nd position and CHPESS secured 3rd position.

The University of Sindh has notified names of students who have secured positions in annual examination 2009-2010 from college side on Wednesday.

According to a notification issued by the Controller of Examination Muhammad Nawaz Narejo, in B.A Anand Kumar Lohana has secured first position while Muhammad Mehtab has secured second and Ahmed Ghayoor Arain has secured third position.

In B.Com Miss Shumaila Qaimkhani   has secured first position, Miss Azka Arain and   Miss Hina Naz Arain has secured second and Miss Anum Ghulam Nabi Malik has secured Third position.

In B.Sc Miss Dilkash Zohra Baloch has secured first position while Abdul Waheed Mastoi and Miss Hoor Khatoon Chandio have secured second and third position respectively.

In M.A Sindhi Miss Saima Umrani, Muhammad Juman Ahemdani and Miss Hanifa Kalhoro have secured first, second and third positions  respectively.

In M.A International Relations Raza Ali Jafri has secured first position while Sawai Mal Malhi has secured second position and Tabraiz Sadique Mari has secured third position.

In M.A Sociology Fida Hussain Laghari has secured first position while Ameer Hyder Laghari has secured second and Miss Aliza Effandi has secured third position.

A high level meeting was convened in the University of Sindh to review the Law and order situation at the campus including hostels.

A high level meeting was convened in the University of Sindh to review the Law and order situation at the campus including hostels on Tuesday. The meeting was presided over by Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Parveen Shah.

The meeting discussed the several relevant issues which includes vigilant check at the main gate of hostels, checking of hostel card and security arrangements at the campus including main entrances.

The Registrar Akhtar Ahmed Memon, Dean Students Affairs Prof. Nizamuddin Halepoto, Director Students Affairs Prof. Bashir Ahmed Channer, Provost Marui Girls Hostel Dr. Qamar Jahan Mirza, Director Security Campus Sajid Qayoom Memon, Provost Boys Hostel Ghulam Ali Jareko, Miss Misbah Bibi Qureshi and Police and Rangers Personnels attended the meeting.

The meeting decided that vigilant check will be observed at main gate of hostels including check of hostel cards. The meeting also decided that police and rangers will be deployed at the main entrances which will be coordinated by Director Security Campus.

In another meeting the issue of students point buses was discussed and decided that the Pro Vice Chancellor herself will pay surprise visit at the campus to check the shortage of point buses.

The Pro Vice Chancellor Sindh University Campus Dadu has announced for information to interested graduates to submit their Curriculum Vitae for teaching in Business Administration, Information Technology, English and Mathematics subjects at Sindh University Campus Dadu as Teaching Assistant.

The candidates having Masters or 4-Years Bachelors degree in relevant discipline is eligible to submit their application addressed to the Registrar University of Sindh up-to 30th September, 2011.

Professor Dr. Aftab Kazi, HEC Foreign Professor department of International Relations University of Sindh delivered a lecture on “International Relations and International Studies: Current Disciplinary Discourses in United States” on Tuesday.

The lecture was arranged by the department of International Relations at Nelson Mandela Hall which was 3rd lecture of scholar under a seminar series as launched by the departments. The lecture was attended by a large number faculty members and students. Dr. Kazi discussed the evolution of International Studies and International Relations as a scientific discipline, disciplinary orthodoxies and theoretical schisms that marred disciplinary developments. He said that most theories developed since 1960s, in fact did not function well as predicted. Although theory borrowing from psychology did help with model building, International Relations without involvement of history failed to predict major developments. Newer trends in International Studies include multidisciplinary integrated approaches, which incorporate not only history, but also newer fields such as neuroeconomics and technopolitics, which is bound to redefine earlier theories. Contrary to Cold War days world views, evolving post-Cold War disciplinary approaches are likely establish International Relations as a scientific discipline.

Dr. Azra Kandhar Chairperson of the department highlighted objectives the seminar series and said that it is a opportunity to students and research scholars to have discussion on important topics related to the discipline. Fourth lecture of the seminar series “Ethnonational Politics and Education Policy in Pakistan” will be held on Monday, October 8, 2011 at the Nelson Mandela Hall, Department of International Relations.

The Directorate of Sports (Boys) University of Sindh has organized Inter department Badminton Tournament started on Tuesday.

32 Institutes and departments participated on first day and 16 departments eliminated from first round while 16 various departments reached in second round and final will be played on 28th September.

The University is also going to organize Inter department (Boys) Table Tennis and Inter Department Badminton Girls Tournament from September,29.

The Director Admissions University of Sindh has fixed October 25, 2011 as last date for evening program students for payment of admission fee

The Director Admissions University of Sindh has advised all students enrolled in evening program at the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT), Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science, Institute of Commerce, Institute of English Language and Literature, Public Administration, Dr. M.A Kazi Institute of Chemistry, and Faculty of Pharmacy to deposit their 2nd year admission fee. The last date for payment of admission fee through bank challan has been fixed as October, 25.
