Annual gathering of Sindh University Officers Welfare Association organized at Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium of the University.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr. Nazir A.Mughal has urged upon the officers of the  University to maintain dignity, respect the time and work with planning to earn honour and be role model to their juniors. He was addressing as Chief Guest in annual gathering of Sindh University Officers Welfare Association organized in connection with oath taking ceremony and to Farwell outgoing body on Wednesday evening at Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium of the University. The Pro Vice Chancellors, Deans of the Faculties, all officers, and representatives of Officers from Quaid Awam University Nawabshah also attended the gathering. The Vice Chancellor while sharing about his paper which he presented in a conference on Tearing down the Ivory Tower” Building the engaged Universities held in Spain on June 13-20, 2011, said that about 1200 Vice Chancellors as well as Presidents of world Universities had attended and added that all of them 10 minutes  were given to share the progress of their respective Universities and present status. The Conference, Dr. Mughal said that concluded that the Universities apart from traditional activities i.e. Education and Research should play part in community service. He said that being Officers of the University, it is noble duty being part of society to serve the community by offering volunteer services. He said that there are many options towards volunteer services and added that officers can visit hospitals, schools and by contribution can helpthe poor people. He said that I am servant of society and all officers of the University are also his part, therefore they must play a model role by serving the people coming in the University. Dr. Mughal advised the officers that they must spend some time towards community services and added that they also be role model to their juniors by guiding them and by helping them. He said that there is need that talented and number of degrees and serving in lower grade to consider them for promotion out of way that they can be encouraged and added that senior officers must play their role in this regard. He said that we are not living isolated , today is global world and  we have to come part of global world so we not live isolated and added that we as University or Institute must strive to build culture of reflection of action. The President of Association Muhammad Nawz Narejo, General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Kaka and Registrar Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro also expressed their views. Mr. Narejo assured the Vice Chancellor that all officers would work a part of Vice Chancellor with dedication and hard work. He also made a request for up gradation of Officers posts in higher grade, stopping deduction of 5% house maintenance  allocation seats for employment to sons and daughters of officers and nomination of officers on various committees. Dr. Kalhoro Registrar of the University while referring the demands responded positively each demand of the officers. On this occasion appreciation shields were presented to retired officers Muhammad Saleh Rajar,   Nawaz Ali Bhutto, Shukat Hussain Shoro, Abdul Qadir Junejo.
