The working hours of Teaching and Administration, University of Sindh, during the month of ” Ramzan Sharif” will be as under:

All working days (excluding Friday)            From 7:30 A.M to 1:15 P.M
Friday                                                                        From 7:30 A.M to 12:15 P.M

Teaching Departments

All working days (excluding Friday)            From 7:45 A.M to 1:00 P.M
Friday                                                                        From 7:45 A.M to 12:00 noon

The above timing will be effective from the appearance of the moon of Ramzan Sharif.

Note: All Teaching classes must be started from 08:00 A.M at all Departments/ Institutes /Sections, University of Sindh.

The University of Sindh has announced the result of college side B.Sc pass Part-II annual examination 2010 here on Friday. According the announcement total 5152 candidates submitted their examination forms, 5117 candidates appeared in the examination while 35 candidates remained absent. 361 candidates secured first class, 3106 candidates secured second class and 221 candidates passed examination in third class. The 919 candidates are fail in various subjects while the University has declared withheld result of 460 candidates due to failure in part-I and 50 candidates due to objection by the conduct branch.

1. College side B.Sc Pass Part II

The University of Sindh has announced admissions to CSS/PCS coaching classes for the counseling, guidance and imparting instruction in the compulsory subjects. The admission will start from August,08 while regular classes will commence from September,05. The interested candidates having Bachelors degree can apply for the admissions. Admission forms on prescribed fee can be had from office of the Center located at Arts Faculty Building of the University.

The Director Admissions University of Sindh has announced on Wednesday that admissions to 2-year LLM degree program will start from August,02 while last date for the submission of admission forms will be   August,13. The open house for the guidance and information to students will be arranged at Institute of Law located at the Metham Ram Hostel Hyderabad on August, 11 in evening at 2  pm to 4.pm. The interested candidates for admission can submit admission forms at the office of the Director Admissions or at Institute of Law Mehta Ram, Hostel Hyderabad by hand duly filled properly along with all necessary documents. Pre entry test for admissions to LL.M program will be conducted on August,16 at the Institute of Law while list of successful candidates will be notified on August, 18.

The Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Praveen Shah accompanied to Registrar Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro and other officials paid a visit to the Boys hostels on Thursday to inspect the repair work and other facilities provided at the hostels. Dr. Parveen Shah visited dinning halls, TV halls, canteens and inspected the color work and checked the furniture in the hostels. She also inspected Tv halls to inspect the installation of new LCD TV’s as provided by the University administration in all boys hostels. The Pro Vice Chancellor also inspected freedom walls as allocated in front of the boys hostels. Dr. Shah on this occasion addressed the employees working in boys hostels and appreciated their services. Dr. Kalhoro while speaking on this occasion said that University has been respecting services of lower employees. He said that under the technical scheme the employees will be promoted and added that University has given priority in jobs to the sons and daughters of those employees who expired during service. Hostel provost Prof. Ghulam Ali Jareko briefed the Pro Vice Chancellor about renovation work at the hostels. In light of resolutions of All Parties Conference and code of conduct finalized by the Monitoring committee, the University has extended many facilities including replacement of old furniture and tv sets at hostels and internet facility for hosteler students at the Center for Pure and Applied Geology in evening time. The University academic activities will start from August, 01 after completion of summer vacation.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr. Nazir A.Mughal has urged upon the officers of the  University to maintain dignity, respect the time and work with planning to earn honour and be role model to their juniors. He was addressing as Chief Guest in annual gathering of Sindh University Officers Welfare Association organized in connection with oath taking ceremony and to Farwell outgoing body on Wednesday evening at Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium of the University. The Pro Vice Chancellors, Deans of the Faculties, all officers, and representatives of Officers from Quaid Awam University Nawabshah also attended the gathering. The Vice Chancellor while sharing about his paper which he presented in a conference on Tearing down the Ivory Tower” Building the engaged Universities held in Spain on June 13-20, 2011, said that about 1200 Vice Chancellors as well as Presidents of world Universities had attended and added that all of them 10 minutes  were given to share the progress of their respective Universities and present status. The Conference, Dr. Mughal said that concluded that the Universities apart from traditional activities i.e. Education and Research should play part in community service. He said that being Officers of the University, it is noble duty being part of society to serve the community by offering volunteer services. He said that there are many options towards volunteer services and added that officers can visit hospitals, schools and by contribution can helpthe poor people. He said that I am servant of society and all officers of the University are also his part, therefore they must play a model role by serving the people coming in the University. Dr. Mughal advised the officers that they must spend some time towards community services and added that they also be role model to their juniors by guiding them and by helping them. He said that there is need that talented and number of degrees and serving in lower grade to consider them for promotion out of way that they can be encouraged and added that senior officers must play their role in this regard. He said that we are not living isolated , today is global world and  we have to come part of global world so we not live isolated and added that we as University or Institute must strive to build culture of reflection of action. The President of Association Muhammad Nawz Narejo, General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Kaka and Registrar Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro also expressed their views. Mr. Narejo assured the Vice Chancellor that all officers would work a part of Vice Chancellor with dedication and hard work. He also made a request for up gradation of Officers posts in higher grade, stopping deduction of 5% house maintenance  allocation seats for employment to sons and daughters of officers and nomination of officers on various committees. Dr. Kalhoro Registrar of the University while referring the demands responded positively each demand of the officers. On this occasion appreciation shields were presented to retired officers Muhammad Saleh Rajar,   Nawaz Ali Bhutto, Shukat Hussain Shoro, Abdul Qadir Junejo.

Written / Screening test for the post of Teaching Assistant at Sindh University Laar Campus @ Badin will be held on Tuesday, 2nd August, time 11.00 am at Allama I.I kazi campus Jamshoro.

Senior Minister for Education Pir Mazharul Haq paid visit to under construction building of  Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Convention Center and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Research Chair in  the University of Sindh on Wednesday appreciated and expressed satisfaction over on the construction work and hoped that construction work will be completed within due time. Accompanied by Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr. Nazir A.Mughal the Minister also inspected various parts of Convention Center and research Chair and appreciated design of the buildings. He appreciated efforts of University Vice Chancellor for his attention towards construction work of convention center and chair, the Minister said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Research chair would benefit researchers in conduct research on the struggle and philosophy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. The Vice Chancellor on this occasion briefed the Senior Minister about details of the project funded by the Government of Sindh. The Senior Minister accompanied to Vice Chancellor also visited the Pir Illahi Bux Corner established by the Institute of Sindhology in gallery of Prominent Personalities. The Sindhology has setup Pir Illahi Bux Corner with a title “Founder of the University of Sindh. The historical photographs of leaders and politicians as well as photographs of Pir Illahi Bux related with  Sindh Assembly sessions and social gatherings and also historical documents have been put on display in the corner. The documents include a letter written by Quaid-i- Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to Pir Illahi Bux on 7th February, 1945 assuring Pir Sahib of his support to resolution on establishment of the University of Sindh which was prepared for tabling in the Sindh Assembly. The Minister on this occasion also visited various parts of the Institute of Sindhology and appreciating efforts taken by Sindhology to facilitate the visitors, the Minister advised the management to charge nominal fees of Museum from the visiting students. The Director of Institute of Muhammad Qasim Maka welcomed the Minister and briefed about research and other projects in hand carried by the Institute.
