Mr. Muhammad Munir Ahmadani, registered scholar in Ph.D in Commerce gave his second Ph.D Seminar at Institute of Commerce, University of Sindh.

Mr. Muhammad Munir Ahmadani is a registered scholar in Ph.D in Commerce on impact of small and medium enterprise (SME’s) on employment in textile industry of Pakistan: a study of Sindh under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Anwar Ali Shah, Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration, University of Sindh.

Mr. Ahmedani gave his second Ph.D Seminar on Monday at Institute of Commerce, University of Sindh. Many faculty members across the  University attended the seminar. The seminar was presided over by Prof. Dr. Anwar Ali Shah, Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration, University of Sindh. The participants asked various questions which were replied by the candidate with detailed information.  However, some suggestions were also given to the scholar for enhancement of quality of research work. Finally, the Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration gave his presidential remarks and declared the seminar successful.

The Controller of Examinations University of Sindh has announced that annual examination 2009 of B.Ed and M.Ed non formal program will be conducted with effect from July, 19.

It is notified for information of all concerned candidates that the tentative schedule of B. Ed and M. Ed Non Formal Annual Examinations 2009 is as under: -

1. Issuance  & Submission of Examination Form in the office of the Study Centre Supervisors 31-05-2011 to 14-06-2011
2. Submission of Examination Form in the office of the Chairman, Department of Distance Continuing and Computer Education, Faculty of Education, University of Sindh 15-06-2011
3. Submission of Examination Form in the office of Controller of Examinations, University of Sindh 01-07-2011
4. Issuance of Admit Cards / Slip 15-07-2011
5. Commencement of Annual Examinations 19-07-2011 to 30-07-2011
Note: The detailed programme of examinations shall be chalked out separately.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES

  1. The Examination Form must be filled-in by the candidate in his / her own handwriting, showing full particulars / correct spelling / space etc of his / her name, father’s name and surname according to his / her last qualifying examination’s marks certificate. (Pasted Photographs must be attested and duly countersigned by the Incharge of Centre.
  2. Marks Certificate of last qualifying examinations (Original).
  3. Original Eligibility Certificate (in case the candidate has passed his / her last qualifying examination from a University other than the University of Sindh.
  4. Attested Photostat copy of Enrolment Card
  5. Attested Photostat copy of Computerized National Identity Card.
  6. Photostat copy of Bank Paid-up Challan (Portion prescribed for concerned office use) of package fees paid by the fresh candidates duly attested by the Chairman, DDCCE.
  7. Examinations Fees for Rs.2000/- for failure candidates only (Original portion of Bank Paid-up Bank Challan, prescribed for concerned office use).
  8. Incomplete examination form will be rejected.

After expiry of the last date as per scheduled above a complete separate list (in alphabetical order) of candidates showing the following particulars (Hardcopy and Softcopy on Flash Memory) is to be sent to the Controller of Examinations, University of Sindh up to 01-07-2011 positively:

a) Name of the candidate

b) Father’s Name

c) Surname

d) Previous Seat Number & Year of the candidate (for failure candidates)

e) Subjects: Compulsory and Optional

f) Challan Number

g) Date of Depositing of fees

h) Amount

The Incharge, Department of Distance Continuing and Computer Education, Faculty of Education, University of Sindh is requested that before signing and sending the Examination Forms of the candidates to the office of the undersigned, ensure that same are filled-in all respect and no out standings are against the candidates.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr.Nazir A.Mughal has expressed deep grief on sad demise of Hakim Ali Zardari.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr.Nazir A.Mughal has expressed deep grief on sad demise of Hakim Ali Zardari a veteran politician and father of President Mr. Asif Ali Zardari. In a condolence message from USA due to his one month ex-Pakistan leave, the Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. Mughal has lauded services and contribution in politics and said that Hakim Ali Zardari played a very important role in parliamentary politics. The Vice Chancellor has expressed condolence with President Mr. Asif Ali Zardari and said that services of Hakim Ali Zardari will be remembered due to his services. The acting Vice Chancellor Dr. Parveen Shah, Deans of the Faculties, Registrar Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro has also expressed sorrow on sad demise of Hakim Ali Zardari.

The Director Admissions University of Sindh has notified for the general information to the concerned students that the authorities of the University has adopted a procedure for refund of tour fees deposited by the students of Bachelors/ Masters, BS Part-IV Honors( Final) , Pass(final) and 5th Professional Pharm-D for the academic year-2011. In this connection the Directorate of Admissions will issue a department wise list while mentioning amount and will be forwarded to the Director Finance. It is further notified that tour fees as deposited by the students of Part-II, III and 4th Professional Pharm-D would be adjusted with the fees of next higher class for the year 2012.

Acting Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr. Parveen Shah has visited the boys hostels at the campus.

Acting Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr. Parveen Shah has visited the boys hostels at the campus and inspected the requirement of the repair of various hostels here on Wednesday. Dr. Shah has inspected the different parts of boys hostels during her visit and advised the hostel management to furnish the needed repair work during the summer vacations. The Hostel Provost Prof. Ghulam Ali Jareko give briefing and highlighted requirements of the boys hostels including some repair and overall whitewash in various hostels. He informed that work towards cleaning, plantation and minor repair of electricity and water lines has been already initiated. The acting Vice Chancellor directed the Project Director Qamarul Hassan Memon to prepare estimate that the essentially needed repair work can be initiated.

The summer vacation 2011 for teaching institutes, centers and departments of the University of Sindh will commence from Wednesday,1st June 2011 to Saturday, 30th July 2011( both days inclusive). According to notification issued on Saturday by the Registrar of the University Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, the University will re-open on Monday 1st August, 2011. He further notified that the Institutes/centers and departments will not observe the vacation till completion of their respective in –process semester examinations (Regular/special). The Directors/Chairpersons of the University will be available in their Offices twice a week i.e on Monday and Tuesday during the summer vacation from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. The Deans of the Faculties would however remain on their duties as usual. The administrative and ministerial staff of the teaching departments will however remain on their duties as usual.

The Bureau of STAGS University of Sindh in a joint venture with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) Government of Pakistan and Sports and Youth Affairs department, Government of Sindh organized an awareness seminar on Youth Entrepreneurship at University’s senate hall on Tuesday. Dr. Parveen Shah acting Vice Chancellor of the University who presided over the seminar underline the importance of youth towards education and development of their skills in connection with small and medium level business. She said that youth needs proper guidance to play part in establishing their own business with expertise.
She said that educated youth can play a vital role in business development and can be helpful in development of economy of the Country. She said that graduates of Business Studies, Economics, Commerce and public administration having specialization would be helpful if they initiate their own business.
She appreciated role of Government for holding awareness seminars for the guidance of University graduates and hoped that youth would be supported by Government at every stage in starting business in successful manner. Prof. Muhammad Yousif Pardesi speaking on this occasion highlighted objectives of the seminar and said that students from the concerned disciplines have invited for their training and skills development.
Saleem Ahmed Siddiqui Deputy Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Department speaking on this occasion said that a full-fledged youth affairs department is looking after youth affairs and provide guidance and training to youth. He said that our country stands at 6th number in the world countries having large population of youth and added that our Country has 54 percentage population of youth. He said that our country apart from its
natural resources is also rich in the Human Resources. He said that their department is working to develop number of projects for promotion of skills of the youth and to utilize their capabilities. Speakers of the seminar Muhammad Imran Khan and Ishtiaq Khoso in their presentation encouraged the students for the entrepreneurship.

The Governor Sindh who is Chancellor of the of University of Sindh has appointed Prof. Dr Parveen Munshi as Dean Faculty of Education for a period of 3 years. The Registrar of the University in this connection has issued a notification on Tuesday.

Under a notification issued by the University of Sindh, announced the names of members of Monitoring Committee constituted by Consultative Committee for establishment of conducive academic environment for all at the campus of the University. The responsibility regarding constitution of monitoring committee was assigned to the consultative committee under recommendations passed by All Parties Conference held on Apri, 17,2011. The Monitoring Committee consists of members from University, intellectuals, civil society and representation of the political parties.
