The University of Sindh has announced that pre entry test for admissions to 2-year MBA (executive) , 4-year B.B.A (evening) and 2 year LL.M degree programs on January,23 at Sindh University Model School Hyderabad.
The University of Sindh has announced that pre entry test for admissions to 2-year MBA (executive) , 4-year B.B.A (evening) and 2 year LL.M degree programs will be conducted on January,23 at Sindh University Model School Hyderabad.
According to announcement by Director Admissions Akhtar Ahmed Memon, the pre entry test for admissions to all three programs will be conducted at 9.00 am. The concerned candidates who have not still collected their admit cards are hereby advised to collect their admit cards and in case of any problem they can contact with director admissions.
The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr.Nazir A.Mughal handed over scholarship nomination letters to 28 faculty members of different teaching institutes and departments.

The occasion was also attended by Pro Vice Chancellors Dr.Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar and Dr.Rafia Ahmed Shaikh. The Deans of the Faculties Dr.Anwar Ali Shah, Dr.Parveen Shah, Dr.Parveen Munshi, Registrar Dr.Muhammad Siddique Kaslhoro, Director Finance Mushtaq Ahmed Memon as well as Directors and Chairpersons various teaching institutes and departments were present. The Vice Chancellor while speaking on this occasion congratulated to the faculty members nominated for Ph.D scholarship from different foreign
Universities and hoped that they would serve the University with successful completion of their higher degree program. He pointed out that nomination under the scholarship is for only Ph.D degree program and candidates of higher score have been nominated for it.
He said that a very transparent system was adopted for the nomination of the faculty members and for the purpose Dean’s committee has made nomination with justice by selecting the candidates.
The Vice Chancellor while highlighting delay for handing over the nomination letters to the faculty members pointed out that due to non availability and financial crunch was main reason behind it. He said that question was arises that how balance amount of Rs.39 Million
available for foreign scholars has been utilized which was not enough and Higher Education Commission was also unable to release more funds. The Vice Chancellor clearly informed the faculty members that in light of demand of faculty members the University has taken decision of awarding of scholarship for only one year as the faculty members have assured that
they will manage stipend for remaining two year. The Vice Chancellor also pointed out that at this stage there is no guarantee from the University of Sindh or the HEC for more funding to nominated faculty but we can only hope for it.
He said that on this stage, the University can not offer any guarantee for funding for further period but only hope of more funds can be offered. The Advisor Planning and Development Muhammad Hussain Shaikh speaking on this occasion highlighted scholarship program funded by Higher Education Commission.

The University of Sindh has announced admission to 2-year Master of Science (M.Sc) Rural Development (external) under distance learning program at Sindh Development Study Center ( SDSC) for academic session 2011 here on Friday.
According the announcement minimum entry for admission to M.Sc rural development program will be second class/division Master Degree in any discipline as such economics, agriculture, sociology, social work, business administration, commerce, statistics, public administration, women studies, criminally or four year degree after intermediate in agriculture.
The applications with other qualifications and from other fields such as Engineering, Mathematcis,Medical Science, Veterinary Sciences, International Relations, Mass Communication and Law shall also be considered if evidence is shown of extensive professional experience in the field of Rural Development. Admissions to M.Sc rural development program is open to students throughout Pakistan with equal opportunity for women. The admission forms along-with prospectus can be obtained from administrator Officer of SDSC or from Habib Bank Limited Jamshoro from January,24. The application form and other information is available at website at usindh.edu.pk/faculties/sdsc/index.htm. The downloaded form will only be valid if the fee of the form is attached in shape of demand draft or bank challan of Rs.1000/- including pre entry test fee in favor of Director Admissions of the University.
The last date of submission of complete application forms in all respects to the Administrative Officer of SDSC is February, 23 while program will start from Marhc,14.
Sindh University’s Student secured first position in All pakistan Allama Iqbal Shield Debate Contest.
Sindh University’s BS Economics Part-II student Muhammad Noman Panhwar has secured first position in All Pakistan Allama Iqbal Shield Debate Contest at NED Engineering and Technology University Karachi University by Higher Education Commission (HEC) and qualified for the final round of debate competition to be held at Islamabad. 4 member team of students from University of Sindh participated in debate contest and Muhammad Noman Panhwar has secured first position. Appreciation certificate and cash prize of Rs.7500/- was awarded to winner student.
The Controller of Examinations University of Sindh Muhammad Nawaz Narejo has announced on Wednesday that second semester examination ( regular/ improver/failure)of first year and second semester examination ( regular students) of second year under 5-year LL.B program will commence at the Institute of Law Metha Ram Hostel Building Hyderabad with effect from
January,17. Examination papers of first shift will start at 9.00 am while papers of second shift will start at 12.00 noon. No any outsider will be allowed in examination center during the examination hours.

The Controller of Examinations University of Sindh has announced result of M.Ed ( Off Campus) annual examination 2008 here on Thursday. Total 566 candidates appeared in the examination, 13 candidates secured first class, 351 candidates secured second class and 6 candidates secured third class.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr.Nazir A.Mughal has said that Japan, China and Korean research chairs will be established and International conference on South East Asia will also be organized in the University. He was addressing scholars, academia and students of the University on occasion of memorable get-together organized by the Area Study Center Far east and South East Asia University of Sindh in honour of Prof.Dr.Lutfullah Mangi Professor of International Relations and former Director of Area Study Center on receiving of Japan’s highest award “The order of the Rising Sun” conferred by the Emperor of Japan. The occasion was attended a large number scholars, professors, faculty members and students of the University. The Vice Chancellor calling Dr.Mangi a son of Sindh and Teacher of University of Sindh said that it is great honor for the University, Province of Sindh as well as Country. The Vice Chancellor congratulated Dr. Mangi on his outstanding achievement and expressed thanks to Japan Government for honoring Sindh university teacher with award the order of the rising sun. He said that this award is first ever in history of the University which received by Dr.Mangi.
He said that Dr.Mangi being scholar and dedicated teacher has raised the image of Pakistan and added that he is one of our eminent scholar of Country. He said that Dr.Mangi rendered services for 30 years as University teacher and his contribution in University will be remembered with golden words. He said that recognition do not come in a day but is sheered hard work, cooperation of teachers and students who give him support. The Vice Chancellor announced that University would honor its scholar with gold medal in the academic convocation and pointed out that under academic reforms convocation will be held twice in a year. The Vice Chancellor welcomed idea of Dr.Mangi and announced the establishment of Japan, China, Korea and Southeast Asia research Chairs and said that approval will be sought from the proper forums after recommendation by Vice Chancellor executive Council. The Vice Chancellor announced that an a international conference on southeast Asia will be organized and all diplomats will be invited to share their ideas and experiences on educational and economic development. The Vice Chancellor for the encouragement of faculty and employees announced that every year best faculty for research, best faculty for teaching , best officer and best employee awards from the current year and said that 4 different committees will be constituted to finalize the names on justice basis.
The Vice Chancellor also advised the faculty members to contribute in research and said that higher education commission has informed that the University of Sindh is low in research and publications. He said that University is going to sign more academic linkages and pointed out that 6 academic linkages with foreign Universities are in pipeline. Speaking on this occasion Dr.Mangi expressed thanks to Japan Government for awarding him highest award of Japan and said that it is was only because of the University of Sindh. Dr.Mangi said that award which he received is not his property but it belongs to faculty, students and University. He said that when Japan Government informed to him he was deeply humbled by decision of Government of Japan and I said thanks to University of Sindh. He also expressed thanks to his colleagues and University administration for cooperation with him during his service. Dr.Mangi on this occasion advised the University to establish Japan, China, Korea and South Asia study chairs.
The Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Director of Area Study Center Dr. Parveen Shah said that Dr.Mangi upgraded teaching and research in the department and also in Area Study Center.
She said that Dr.Mangi has received award on his out-standing achievement and added that he improved the environment of the center. She said that on receiving award by Dr.Mangi, the faculty members feel proud on it. Students of Dr.Mangi, Ghulam Murtaza Khoso paid tribute to his teacher and said that Dr. Mangi developed area study center, digital library and number of research publication. He said that during Directorship of Dr.Mangi center organized a lecture series and more than 30 scholars delivered lectures while 6 international conferences had been organized. Dr.Mahmood Mughal and other scholars also expressed their views.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh has approved the transfers and postings of the University Officers in the interest of University work. According to University notification issued by the Registrar on Tuesday, Muhammad Ayob Channa Assistant Controller of Examination has been transferred and posted to work as Administrator Officer Sindh University Colony.
Rafiq Ali Brohi Students Welfare Officer has been transferred and post to work as Campus Maintenance Officer, Muhammad Moosa Khatian Assistant Controller of Examination has been transferred and posted to work as Assistant Manager Press. Murtaza Bhatti Assistant Manager Press has been transferred and posted to work as Assistant Registrar Administration while Kareem Bux Saharan Assistant Registrar has been transferred and posted to work as Students Welfare Officer.
