The University of Sindh has conducted pre entry test for admissions to Masters, MS and M.Phil degree programs for academic session 2011.

The University of Sindh has conducted pre entry test for admissions to Masters, MS and M.Phil degree programs for academic session 2011 in a well discipline and in peaceful manner here on Sunday. The pre entry test was conducted at the Faculty of Arts Building at Allama I.I.Kazi Campus Jamshoro.
Total 3515 candidates, 2828 for Masters and 787 candidates appeared for test for admissions to MS and M.Phil. The University administration took a very strict security measures at the campus including main entrances. The senior faculty members of various departments performed duties in examination blocks while Deans of the Faculties, members of Syndicate and senior Professors were also present to inspect the arrangements on the occasion. The University administration facilitates candidates with providing facility of pick and drop and plied point buses from different routes of Hyderabad and Kotri. The University also facilated parents of candidates with setup of waiting room at the Zero point and Fatima Jinnah Girls Gymnasium. Special arrangements were made for parking of vehicles at the zero point where a large number traffic police helped people for parking of vehicles. Before starting of pre entry test the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Professor Dr.Nazir A.Mughal through control room addressed the candidates. He welcoming candidates said that this is the world of competition where quality counts and added that objectives of test is to select candidates with potential for higher learning that would help in imparting quality education. Dr.Mughal said that he is happy to see that University of Sindh has been rigorously following this process of selecting candidate on basis of their merit potential judged by their performance at the test, since he had introduced it in 1996 during tenure of Vice Chancellor of the University. What is more satisfying is the observation that practically all public and private sector degree awarding institutions have adopted this practice for inducting freshman during last 10 years a practice that is common in all developed countries Dr.Mughal said. He expressed hope that successful candidates would pay attention on their education that they can vital role for nation development. The Provincial Minister for Education who is also Pro- Chancellor of the Universities in Province Pir Mazharul Haq who paid surprise visit, addressing candidates said that pre entry test is always helpful to meritours candidates.
He said that PPP Government always taken efforts to promote merit. He said that appointments of school teachers were made on merit  basis  through entry test process. He said that conduct of pre entry test in all over public and private sector institutes is continuous process of merit which was introduced by PPP governments. He stressed the need of attention on education by youth and said that bright youth will be helpful for society and nation. He accompanied to Vice Chancellor as well as  Deans also inspected different examination blocks and checked the pre entry test arrangements. The Pro Vice Chancellor Dr.Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar, Deans of the Faculties Dr.Muhammad Tahir Rajput, Dr.Parveen Shah, Dr.Abdullah Dayo, Dr. Sanaullah Bhatti, Dr.Parveen Munshi, members of Syndicate Prof.Khalid Noor Panhwar, Prof.Intizar Lashari, Registrar Dr.Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, Director Admissions Akhtar Ahmed Memon, Director Postgraduate Studies Dr.Muhammad Raees Ahmed and other senior professors were also present on this occasion.
