Thursday, September 30th, 2010The Controller of Examinations ( annual) University of Sindh has notified schedule for submission of examination forms for combine examination of eligible regular and external candidates for B.A( Regular ands External), B.Sc, B.Com and B.Sc Home Economics Part-I and Part-II( Regular) and M.A Previous and Final ( External) under annual examination 2010 here on Monday.
The concerned candidates are hereby advised to obtain examination forms from their concerned colleges with effect from October,01. The last date for submission of examination forms without late fees has been fixed as October,29. It is further announced that after due date Rs. 5000/- will be charged as late fee with effect from November, 02.

Thursday, September 30th, 2010The Director Admissions University of Sindh has notified new schedule for conduct of pre entry test for admissions to various degree programs in the University for academic session 2011.
He announced that Pre entry test for admissions to Masters Degree program in all disciplines (Morning and evening) and MS/M.Phil program in various disciplines will be conducted on October 31 at Allama I.I.Kazi Campus Jamshoro.
Pre entry test of candidates applied for admissions to MBA degree program at Sindh University Laar College Badin will be conducted at Laar College Badin on October, 31.
He further announced that pre entry test for admissions to Bachelors degree program in all disciplines (Morning and Evening) in the University will be conducted on November, 07 at Allama I.I.Kazi Campus Jamshoro.
The Pre entry test of those candidates who applied for the admissions to Bachelors degree program in Sindh University Laar College Badin and Sindh University Campus Mirpurkhas will be conducted on Novmber, 07 at the respective campuses. The last date for obtaining and submission of admission forms for admissions to University of Sindh, Sindh University Laar College Badin and Sindh University Campus Mirpurkhas has already been extended up to September, 30.

Thursday, September 30th, 2010The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Professor Dr.Nazir A. Mughal on Monday paid a surprise visit to various teaching institutes and department of the University.
The Vice Chancellor visited the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMCS) and inspected on going academic programs. The Director of the Institute Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh on this occasion briefed the Vice Chancellor about the teaching and research programs in the Institute.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Professor Dr.Nazir A.Mughal has said that research is backbone for the development as well as a major source of the development for generating of more resources. He was speaking to scholars of the University after inauguration of Social Audit Research Center of the Faculty of Social Sciences University of Sindh here on Monday.
The Social Audit Research Centre is jointly funded by UNDP-DTCE and University of Sindh. The Vice Chancellor appreciated scholars team of the Faculty of Social Sciences and said that opening of Social Audit Research Center is an excellent work done by the team of the University. He said that concept of social audit is not new but when pages of history will be turn the material will be available on websites and added that social audit concept basically is to built a trust among the stakeholders which is supported by number of development organizations. The Vice Chancellor pointed out that a letter was sent by him in the month of March of current year to the Deans of the all faculties with advise to setup research centers in their faculties. He said that now days it is need of hour that Universities should focus on research and to generate own resources for the development of the Universities.
He pointed out that Higher Education Commission in past given lot of money to the Universities but HEC not given lesson to the Universities that how to generate their own resources. we are asking the faculty to mold yourself and look in to ground realties of now days and gone those days the Vice Chancellor said and added that we are not asking for the profit but no loss no profit. The Vice Chancellor urged upon the faculty members to find and suggest ways for source generation.
He said that Vice Chancellors Executive Council during its number of meetings approved the reforms in higher education and research and revised the fee structure of certificates and degrees and added that for every decision the each member of the council is responsible. The Vice Chancellor said that every teacher has a freedom to share ideas for the development of the University and added that teacher are open to come out if they have any idea or for any problem should discuss with concerned Deans. The Vice Chancellor said that he has given powers to the Deans of Faculties to made decisions on merit.
The Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Dr. Parveen Shah, Dr.Murad Khatoon Panhwar Chairperson of the department of Economics, coordinator of Research Center Dr. Rafiq Chandio, Mr.Azhar Bashir of Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment (DTCE), Prof.Imtiaz Pirzado and others expressing their views highlighted aims and objectives of the center.
A delegation of Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF) meets with the Vice Chancellor, University of Sindh.

A delegation of Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF) led by Stephone Gorriely deputy field coordinator for Jamshoro met with Vice Chancellor of the University of Sindh Professor Dr.Nazir A.Mughal in his office on Monday morning.
He informed the Vice Chancellor about aims and objectives of MSF and its social and development activities. He informed that their organization is engaged to provide medical facilities in different Countries. He said that MSF is planning to provide medical assistance to flood affected people from Jamshoro to Sehwan by arranging mobile health facilities. The Vice Chancellor termed the services of MSF as a noble services offered by MSF and offered full cooperation on behalf of faculty and students of the University.
He said that Sindh University teachers, employees and students jointly organized flood relief camps in Jamshoro and Hyderabad and also donated one day salary for flood affected people.
He said that through flood relief camps the donation contributed and collected and was distributed among the flood affected people. The Deans of various Faculties Dr.Anwar Ali Shah, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Rajput, Dr. Sanaullah Bhutto, Dr.Muhammad Qasim Bughio, Registrar Dr.Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro and others were present in meeting and appreciated services of MSF.
The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh has allowed to conduct combined examination (annual system) for the same degree for regular and external candidates.

The Director Admissions has issued a notification on Thursday that last date for submission and obtaining of admission forms for Bachelors, Masters (Morning and Evening) in all disciplines and MS/M.Phil degree program in different disciplines has been extended up to September, 30. It is further announced that last date for submission and obtaining of admission forms for admissions to Sindh University Laar College Badin and Sindh University Campus Mirpurkhas has also been extended up to September,30. The interested candidates are hereby advised to obtain admission forms from prescribed Habib Bank Limited branches or download from website www.usindh.edu.pk

The Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration University of Sindh organized a lecture on Modern Tools and Methodologies in Business Research a Memorial lecture in name of Late Prof.N.B Daudpota founder of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA). Agricultural Economist from SZABAC-Dokri Prof. Faiz Muhammad Shaikh was
speaker who delivered his lecture. The Lecture was arranged at the auditorium of the IBA which was attended by a large number students and faculty members of the Institute of Commerce and IBA.
The Dean Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration Prof. Dr. Anwar Ali Shah presided over the occasion. In his lecture the speaker underline the collection of data, conduct of survey and importance of background for the research work. He said that in every field research always played key role for development of any area.
He also highlighted different important aspects of research work and said that the faculty members must involve to students in their research work. Dr. Anwar Ali Shah appreciated the lecture of scholar and paid tribute to Late Prof Daudpota for his services rendered in the University. He said that Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration regularly organizing lecture on different important areas for the learning of the commerce and Business Management graduates. The Director of IBA Prof.Khair Muhammad Zardari, Director of the Institute of Commerce Dr. Noor Ahmed Jamali also expressed their views.
The Registrar University of Sindh has notified that the Vice Chancellor of the University has allowed 50% adhoc relief of basic pay.
Friday, September 24th, 2010The Registrar University of Sindh has notified here on Thursday that the Vice Chancellor of the University has allowed 50% adhoc relief of basic pay to all the employees from BPS-2 to BPS- 22 and 15% to 20% increase in pension benefits to the pensioners as announced by the Government for the month of September, 2010.
