The Registrar, University of Sindh have expressing its concern on disturbances created by employees by holding sit in protest.
The authorities of the University of Sindh have expressing its concern on
disturbances created by employees by holding sit in protest , said that it
is observed that since many days some employees deliberately create
disturbances in peaceful educational environment on the basis of their
unjustified and unrealistic demands.
The Registrar of the University who has also issued a circular for
information to all employees of the University on Monday has said that
University authorities constituted a high level committee to look in to
demands of the employees. The University has resolved 34 demands out of 35 on the recommendations of the said Committee the registrar added.
He said that University has resolved all legal demands of the University
employees but they again went to protest and also locked some departments and offices which is unethical and illegal being a welfare association. He said that demand for payment in raised of 50% salaries, enhanced medical allowances and pension as already notified by the Government and they are also aware that the issue of payment of enhanced salaries, medical allowances and pension is delayed on shortage of funds and cut in budget of the University which is issue of all Universities of the
province of Sindh. He said that a meeting of Vice Chancellors of the universities of Sindh was convened by the Honourable Chancellor on July, 29 to discuss the financial problems of the Universities and added that after detailed discussion it was resolved that Government of Sindh will be aproached for funding of Rs.1.8 Billion to the Universities of Sindh to meet the expenses for adhoc 50% raised in salaries, medical allowance and pension to the Employees. This is not the problem of the only lower employees but the teaching community is also awaiting for this enhancement the Registrar added. The Registrar further said that in this connection the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh has requested for a meeting of the Vice Chancellors of the Universities of Sindh which is scheduled to be held on August, 18, 2010 at LUMHS to discuss this issue.
Meanwhile it is very pertinent to mentioned here that the protest, lock
the offices of administration and teaching departments, create disturbances is an unhealthy and illegal by the some employees and added
that they must honour a system , and be discipline and avoid unjustified
