The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Professor Dr.Nazir A.Mughal has said that Government has brought him here to render services for the Nation and stressed the need to increase efficiency by faculty members and employees by working with honesty and dedication.
He was presiding over 13th meeting of Vice Chancellor Executive Council
held here on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by Pro Vice Chancellors Dr.Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, Dr.Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar, Deans of the Faculties Dr. Muhammad Tahir Rajput, Dr.Parveen Shah, Dr.Parveen Munshi, Dr.Muhammad Qasim Bughio, Dr.Sanaullah Bhutto, Director Graduates Studies Dr.Muhammad Raees, Registrar Muhammad Hussain Shaikh, Director Students Affairs Prof.Bashir Ahmed Channer, Dr.Imdad Ali Ismaili, Dr.Qamar Jahan Mirza, Dr.Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, Dr.Ghulam Sarwar Gachal, Prof.Badar Soomro, Controller of Examinations Dr.K.D.Pitafi, Director Finance Mushtaq Ali Memon, Director Admissions Akhtar Ahmed Memon, Principal Sindh university Laar College Badin Muhammad Hayat Keerio  and others. The Vice Chancellor expressed disappointment in delay in communication of academic reforms to heads of institutes and departments and also delay in holding regular meetings by the Deans of concerned Faculties and emphasized that Faculty Deans should convened meetings of heads of institutes and departments for briefing them about academic reforms as already discussed in Executive Council and approved by the Syndicate meeting. The Vice Chancellor also briefed the meeting about his visit to Boys hostels and express anger on poor performance of engineering wing and hostel management. He said that there is no efficiency and people of these wings are not working satisfactory. The Vice Chancellor said that he would be convening a conference of the Heads of the Institutes and departments soon to brief them about academic reforms as well as for implementation the same however he pointed out that there is need to brief the academic reforms to heads of the departments to seek their suggestions if any for addition. He said that no doubt that introduction and implementation of academic reforms would take a time but hopefully these reforms would enhance the quality of education. The Vice Chancellor said that Deans are academic leaders and added that it is time that they should brief about academic reforms to heads of institutes and departments by convening meetings. The Vice Chancellor said that academic problems and students problems must solve by the academic heads.
The meeting on this occasion discuss the schedule of academic activities
and academic schedule of second semester which will begin from July 21,
2010. The meeting also finalized academic schedule of new academic session 2011 along with academic activities and research programs. The representatives of different Insurance Companies also give presentation to the executive council meeting as the University is planning to   provide group insurance to University employees.

The Director Admissions University of Sindh has extended last date for submission of admission forms by already enroll students of LL.B Honours part-I.

The Director Admissions University of Sindh here on Friday has extended last date  up to July,05 for submission of admission forms by already enroll students of LL.B Honours part-I for next higher class i.e. LL.B Part-II under Institute of Law University of Sindh.
The admission forms are available at Habib bank Limited Old Campus Hyderabad on prescribed form fee.

The University of Sindh has taken several steps to improve efficiency engineering wing with availability of water at Boys and Girls Hostels and utilization of   electricity as well as maintaince of old and newly constructed buildings of the University. In this connection the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof. Dr.Nazir A.Mughal convened a high level meeting on Friday to discuss way and means for maintains of building and better arrangements of clean drinking water at the campus.
The Project Directors and representatives from Mehran university of Engineering and Technology (MUET) and Liaquat University of Medial and Health Sciences (LUMHS) were specially invited to attend the meeting and provide expertise for the purpose.
Advisor Engineering wing of University of Sindh Prof.Dr.Abdul Ahad Abro, Project Director, Civil and Electrical Engineers, Provost and Director Students Affairs as well as Administrator Officer of Sindh University Residence Colony of University of Sindh were present in the meeting. The meeting discussed the completed construction projects and proper maintains of the newly constructed buildings as well as projects initiated during last ten years at the campus.
The Vice Chancellor on this occasion took a serious note regarding poor maintains of newly constructed building by the Engineering wing of the University and also less attention to new projects. He said that water and electricity areas needs proper attention to facilitated to the students residing in hostels and faculty members and employees of the University residing in the colony. It also decided that a separate engineer would be deputed in Engineer wing to look after water management and proper maintains of machines as well as water lines that problem of shortage of water can be resolved. The meeting also discussed the all possible measures during summer vacation for repair and replacement of water tanks, cleanings ness of water lines at the campus.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazir A. Mughal visiting the boys hostle.

Showing his disappointment and deep anger on shocking conditions of various parts of boys hostels, the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr.Nazir A.Mughal has warned Hostel Management and Engineering wing for maintaince of hostels within 2 weeks of time. He was visiting boys hostels of the University of Sindh to inspect on- going repair work and facilities available for hostelr students in 10 boys hostels of the University.
Dr.Mughal expressed dissatisfaction on poor performance in hostels as well as on critical condition of various parts of boys hostels with less maintaince, poor cleaning-ness with attention on part of hostel management which includes kitchens of canteens, lawns and hostel rooms, damaged window and doors. During his visit Vice Chancellor inspected Allama Iqbal Hostel, Allama I.I.Kazi Hostel, Allama Daudpota and Ibne-Khuldoon Hostels. The Vice Chancellor also visited a portion of block hostel occupied by Police which declared police line. Dr. Mughal inspected lawns of various hostels and express absolute unhappiness during his first visit of hostels after taking over charge of office of Vie Chancellor.
He ordered the concerned officials of Hostel management and Engineering wing for proper maintenance of lawns, repair, white wash as well as replacement of damaged furniture, doors and windows and also replacement damaged furniture at messes of various hostels. The Vice Chancellor said that there is need of dedication and sprit with cause of purpose and we should deliver with honesty as realizing it priority of duty.
He also visited central canteen of hostels and ordered for modernization it with all facilities and said that this canteen can also be used by faculty members and visitors.
The Vice Chancellor also hold a meeting with concerned of hostel management and engineering wing and directed them to complete  repair and white wash within giving time and delay in it will not be tolerated. The Vice Chancellor pointed out that zero point of the University would be beautified properly and separate motorcycle and car parking would also be developed there. He said that every year Rs.5 to 6 lak will be spent on beautification of zero point of the campus.
He also advised the Director Students Affairs to work with engineering wing for beautification of front area of building of faculty of Arts and added that University would spent Rs.1 Million for the beautification of area which visits daily by number of students, faculty and alumnae of the University.
The Vice Chancellor pointed out that University is working on to provide group insurance facility to its employees and cards will be issued to them for medical treatment from various hospitals. He further said that recycling of wastewater project is also imitated which will boost-up greenery and plantation and adopting of private security system is also under consideration.
The Registrar of the University Mr.Muhammad Hussain Shaikh, Advisor Engineering wing Dr.Abdul Ahad Abro, Director Students Affairs Prof.Bashir Ahmed Channer, Provost Boys Hostels Dr.Ghulam Sarwar Gachal and others were accompanied to Vice Chancellor.

The University of Sindh has approved an amount of Rs.2075000/-(Twenty lakh and seventy five thousand) on account of medical reimbursement for its 297 faculty members, officers and employees. The amount was approved by the University’s Reimbursement Committee’s held separately for officers and Faculty members from BPS-17 and above and also for employees of Grade -2 to Grade 16.
The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr.Nazir A.Mughal presided over the meeting of reimbursement committee for officers and faculty members from BPS-17 and above held here on Thursday. Total 81 cases of the officers and faculty members were discussed in the meeting and approved the reimbursement of medical bills for the amount of Rs. 1025000/- (Ten Lakh Twenty Five Thousand Only).
The meeting was attended by members of committee included Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences Dr.Muhammad Tahir Rajput, Consultant Dr.Rafi Ahmed Ghouri,  Prof.Dr.Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, Registrar Muhammad Hussain Shaikh, Director Finance Mushtaq Ahmed Memon. An a separate reimbursement committee meeting for employees of Grdae-2 to 16 was also met under chairmanship of Pro Vice Chancellor Dr.Rafia Ahmed Shaikh which was attended by Registrar, Director Finance as well as Chief Accountant Rasool Bux Lashari and discussed the medical reimbursement of
216 applications. The Committee has approved the amount of Rs. 1050000/- (Ten Lakh and fifty Thousand) for medical reimbursement of 216 employees of Grade 2 to 16.

The Additional Controller of Examinations, University of Sindh has announced result of regular, improver and failure candidates of LL.B.

The Additional Controller of Examinations University of Sindh Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Narejo has announced on Wednesday that first semester examination of regular, improver and failure  candidates of  LL.B first year and first semester examination of LL.B second year under  five year LL.B degree program will be conducted from June,28.
It is further announced that examinations will be conducted at Institute of Law, Elsa Kazi Campus Hyderabad.

The University of Sindh has announced the schedule for admissions to 4-month CSS/PCS coaching classes.

The University of Sindh has announced the schedule for admissions to 4-month CSS/PCS coaching classes here on Wednesday. According the announcement by Incharge of CSS Center Prof Allah Wasayo Rajar the admission will start from July,01 while regular classes will be commenced from July,26.
The  CSS/PCS coaching classes for counseling, guidance, and imparting instructions in compulsory subjects i.e. English Composition, English Essays, Functional English, Pakistan Affairs, Current Affairs, Every Day Science, General Knowledge and Islmiat will be conducted at Dr.N.A Baloch Model School , Elsa Kazi Campus Hyderabad. The coaching classes will be conducted in evening from 3-30 pm to 7-30 pm during first four days of week i.e. Monday to Thursday. The classes will be conducted by experienced and senior Professors of the University and counseling and guidance will be provided by senior Civil servants for benefit of the candidates.
The interested candidates having Bachelor degree can obtain admission forms from the CSS center located at Arts Faculty Building University of Sindh from July, 01.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr.Nazir A.Mughal has said that research chair is a wide concept and it aims to benefit the coming generations through research with involvement of highly learned scholars of international repute for the purpose. He was presiding over 3rd meeting of Board of Governors (BOG) of Shamsul Ulema Mirza Kalich Beg Chair here on Tuesday. The Vice Chancellor paying rich tribute lauded valuable services of Shamusl Ulema Mirza Kalich Beg in Literature and also his role as society reformer and said that task of chair is to promote services of Kalich among young generation and should concentrate on research. He emphasized the need of establishment of research cell under the Chair which mainly focus on research. He pointed out that main philosophy of chair is to conduct research for benefit of society and added that what chair has done is good but it should fix  priorities. He said that we are living in digitalized  world and it is dire need that every one should involve itself to promote aims of chair and development too.
The Vice Chancellor said that funds received to Chair must be utilized carefully with preparation of accounts of each penny. He said that research needs ultra efforts, planning  for future work and feasibility report regarding any new project which are no doubt very essential. He said that Chair’s  work must develop image of it as well as  University
and before publication of any book a outstanding committee for evaluation of  books and publication of research is important. The meeting while approving minutes of 2nd meeting of BOG also approved the expenditure of international Conference on Mirza Kalich Beg. The Director of the Chair Dr.Muhammad Qasim Bughio informed the meeting that for 2 day conference research papers of 70 scholars were received while more than 50 papers were scrutinized by committee for reading and publication. He informed that 5 books were published and launched on occasion of the conferecne’s first day. He informed that on organizing of 2-day Shamusul Ulema Mirza Kalich Beg international Conference the expenditure was made as Rs. 875351/-. He pointed out that Rs. 4 lakh donation was received 2 lakh each from Dr.Zulfiqar Mirza and Dr.Fahmida Mirza in their personal capacity. He pointed out that at the time of establishment of Chair   Rs.1 million was announced by the department of Culture government of Sindh.
The meeting while discussing annual budget for 2010-2011 of the chair it proposed preparation of budget with details and decided to be discussed and approved in next meeting. The meeting also decided that a symposium on occasion of 81st death anniversary of Shamsul Ulema Mirza Kalich Beg will be organized on July 03 to highlight valuable services of Kalich and to discuss future plans. The meeting was attended by Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan Justice (Retd) Hamid Ali Mirza, Secretary Culture Government of Sindh Mr. Ahmed Bux Narejo, Dr.Fahmida Hussain, Mr. Aijaz Ali Beg Mirza, Mr. Nasir Beg Mirza, Dr. Faizeh Zehra Mirza, Dr.Dur Muhammad Pahtan, Prof. Muhammad Saleem Memon and Director of Chair Prof.Dr. Muhammad Qasim Bughio.

The Vice Chancellor, University of Sindh presiding over the 176th meeting of the Syndicate.

The syndicate of the University of Sindh has approved the appointment of heads of various teaching institutes and departments for fresh tenure here on Monday.
The 176th meeting of Syndicate was presided over by Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr.Nazir A.Mughal, has discussed the academic and research matters and took various decisions in unanimous manner. The meeting has approved the appointment of Prof. Dr.Akhtar Hussain Mughal as Director of Institute of Physics, Dr. Allah Bux Ghanghro as Director of Institute of Biochemistry and Dr.Muhammad Yousif Leghari as Chairman of Department of Pharmaceutical of Faculty of Pharmacy.
The meeting while approving minutes of 7 meetings of Vice Chancellor Executive Council, appreciated academic reforms introduced by the Vice Chancellor and offered full cooperation and help. The Syndicate meeting while appreciating and approving Recycling of Wastewater project in the University it expressed hope that this project would be beneficial a lot for plantation and boost up of greenery at the Campus.
The syndicate meeting appreciated 37 year services of University’s Registrar Mr. Muhammad Hussain Shaikh who dedicated 37 years life to University and served in various positions i.e as Registrar as well as, Advisor Planning and Development.
 The meeting was attended by syndicate members Justice (Retd) Hamid Ali Mirza Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, Dr.Fahmida Hussain, Dr.Syed Altaf Hussain, Pro Vice Chancellors Prof.Dr.Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, Dr.Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar, Deans of the Faculties Dr.Anwar Ali Shah, Dr.Abdullah Dayo, Prof.Ahmed Ali Shaikh, Dr.Haji Mahmood Memon, Syed Sharaf Ali Shah representatives of University teachers Syed Abdul Ghaffar Shah, Mr.Khalid Noor Panhwar, Mr.Intizar Lashari and Registrar Mr. Muhammad Hussain Shaikh.
