The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Mughal inspected the selected building for Sindh University Campus Dadu and opened a board of Campus.
The University of Sindh while accepting proposal of the Government of Sindh has plan to establish Sindh University Campus at Dadu and start some job oriented disciplines at initial stage from new academic session. The classes of the Dadu campus will be started at Government Degree College and Education Department of Government of Sindh has assured to allocate separate building of College comprising 24 class rooms, 6 big halls, one auditorium for classes and set up of offices of the new campus. In this connection a meeting was held at the University of Sindh under chairmanship of its Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr.Nazir A.Mughal on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Planning, Development and Finance of Education and Literacy Department Mr.Ashfaq Qadri, Director Planning and Development Prof. Ghulam Mahdi Baloch, Advisor Engineering wing of Sindh University Dr.Abdul Ahad Abro, Registrar of the University Mr. Muhammad Hussain Shaikh, Principal Government Degree College Dadu Prof.Ghulam Sarwar Abassi and others.
Sindh Government officials informed the Vice Chancellor that for establishment of Campus at Dadu a separate building with all requirements is ready and to be handed over to University for its Campus. They further informed that building is comprises with 44 acres land and it is situated at a very ideal place with all basic facilities in central place of Dadu City. They further pointed out that Government of Sindh would provide funds for purchase of land there and funds for fulfillment of basic necessities which includes Computers, furniture, vehicles, setting up of computer laboratories and science equipments. They informed that a separate portion of college building and also vacant building of hostel will be at the disposal of the University for setting up offices of the administration as well as residence of the officials. The Vice Chancellor said that University would be considering to appoint at least 2 Ph.D faculty members for each discipline at its campuses and to provide all required facilities for fulfillment of needs of the higher education. He said that opening of campus is not aiming for only show off but to provide higher education to youth in real way with required facilities needed for their degree programs. The meeting while agreeing the proposal decided to visit the suggested building for Campus at Dadu and to inspect the facilities for starting of the campus. In this connection Sindh University Vice Chancellor along with Deans of the various Faculties, Registrar and other officials would visit the proposed building for inspection on Friday, April, 30.
