A delegation 57 male and female students from Universities and Colleges of Balochistan visited University of Sindh under Inter Provincial Youth Exchange Program on Tuesday. The Government of Sindh has initiated Inter Provincial Youth Exchange Program to develop academic liaison between students of different Universities and colleges and provide opportunity of meetings and exchange of academic views. The students delegation who is visiting province of Sindh for 6-day when reached at the campus was warmly welcomed by Dean Faculty of Art Dr. Muhammad Qasim Bughio ,faculty members, students and officials. The students delegation which was led by Muhammad Afzal Sulheri while Director Youth Affairs Sindh Khurshid Ali Shaikh was accompanied to delegation. Students visited Library, Museum, Galleries, Prominent Personalities Corners, Benazir Bhutto Gallery, Music Gallery and others sections of the Institute of Sindhology. The students also visited various teaching institutes and departments which includes Institute of English Language and Literature, Institute of Art and Design and Foreign Faculty Hostel. A presentation was arranged by Bureau of STAGS at Institute of Art and Design and overall academic programs, University’s history, degree programs offered by the University, facilities, number of students,
faculty and institutes and departments were highlighted in the presentation.
Dr. Bughio speaking on this occasion welcomed the students delegation and said that this University has promoted unity and freedom of expression among students and faculty members. He said that Universities are key part of the society to play role in development youth. He said that students must learn more languages for learning and exchange of views and creation of understanding.
Mr. Khurshid Ali Shaikh Director Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh   informed that Inter Provincial Youth Exchange Program launched by Government of Sindh aiming to develop understanding, academic learning, create awareness and brotherhood among the people. He said that Chief Minister Sindh has approved Rs.5 Million for inviting students from other provinces in Sindh under Inter Provincial Youth Exchange program. He added that a delegation of students from Sindh already had visited Punjab.

The Registrar University of Sindh Mr. Muhammad Hussain Shaikh has notified summer working timings of the University from April,01, 2010. According the notification issued on Tuesday, new timings of offices of administration during all working days (excluding Friday) will be from 7.30 a.m to 2-15 p.m and on Friday from 7.30 a.m to 12:15 noon.
The timings of teaching departments during all working days (excluding Friday) will be from 8.00 a.m to 2-00 p.m and on Friday from 8.00 a.m to 12.00 noon

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr.Nazir A.Mughal has approved to allow an advance equivalent to half month basic pay maximum upto Rs.1500/- to all Christian regular and contractual employees of the University of Sindh on account of Easter to be paid on April, 02.
The Registrar University of Sindh Mr. Muhammad Hussain Shaikh has issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.

The Controller of Examinations University of Sindh Dr. K.D Pitafi has notified results of semester examinations of all batches (Morning and Evening) of regular, improver and failures candidates of 34 Institutes and departments under semester examination 2009. According to a notification issued by the Controller of Examination on Monday that marks certificates of all candidates also issued and provided to the concerned teaching institutes and departments to handover to their students.
 The University’s Examination wing has announced the results of disciplines of Faculty of Education, Faculty of Pharmacy, Pakistan Study Centre, Department of Criminology, Institute of Business Administration( IBA) Center for Health and Physical Education, Institute of Commerce, Department of Zoology, Department of Statistics, Telecommunication, Geography, Library and Information Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Information Technology, Computer Sciecne,Freshwater Biology , Botany,
Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. The University has also notified results of Arabic, English, Women Development Studies, Urdu, Muslim History, Economics, Sociology, Islamic Culture, Political Science, General History, Psychology and Sindhi.

Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr. Nazir A Mughal while announcing establishment of Chair in the name of renowned poet and scholar Himayat Ali Shair in recognition to his valuable services in Poetry and Literature, has said that Himayat Ali Shair has advocated people of every community and continuously serving the society. Speaking in literary gathering in honour of renowned poet Prof.  Himayat Ali Shair organized by Kamaluddin Memorial Society in collaboration with Dealdas Club Hyderabad on Saturday.  Dr. Mughal lauded literary services and said that Himayat Ali Shair has served in literature and fulfilled duty towards awareness in society. He said that a poet is voice of community to advocating problems and pains and creating hope for future. The Vice Chancellor also announced set up of Himayat Ali Shair Corner at Institute of Sindhology and said that it is responsibility of institutes to recognize valuable services of scholars like Himayat Ali Shair. Dr.Mughal announced the award of five research scholarships of five Thousand Rupees each for those scholars who wish to research on literary contribution of Himayat Ali Shair for M.Phil/ Ph.D degree in department of Urdu of the University of Sindh. In connection with for financial assistance of poor and meritorious students during University education, Sindh University Vice Chancellor announced creation of Himayat Ali Shair Foundation and appealed friends, followers, students and family of Himayat Ali Shair to help the foundation by contribute funds that it can achieve goals by assisting to needy students. Welcoming noted poets Himayat Ali Shair and Mahmmod Shaam at Hyderabad on behalf of academia, students   and employees the Vice Chancellor also invited them to visit the University. He highlighted University’s research and academic programs and said that owe to his services in the field of education and research in USA, publication of 35 research books  and services for award of scholarships to 1200 Pakistani youth in USA for higher education, the government invited him to serve as Vice Chancellor University of Sindh for the second time.
He promised that with implementation of academic reforms as he introduced and discussed in five meetings of Vice Chancellor’s Executive Council, the University of Sindh will be best in Universities of Asia. Prof. Himayat Ali Shair speaking on the occasion said that he loved Hyderabad and people of Hyderabad always respected and loved him. He said that I always been struggling to produce more and to deliver some new in the field of literature especially in the poetry. He said that he is working on Sindhi Folklore stories to present it in poetry and play form. He said that creative writers are not time-bound but every artist is student of literature and added literature is combination of different section i.e literature and poetry. He said that he is compiling all his literary work by re-writing and will be produced in 12 volumes. He said that his autobiography in a poetry form is also a unique work throughout world which comprises 3500 poems.
Himayat Ali Shair on this occasion expresses thanks to people of Hyderabad who invited him and appreciated his services. Noted scholars, intellectuals, politicians, teachers and students paid a rich tribute to Pir Subghtuallah Shah Shaheed “Sooriah Badshah” on his great sacrifice of life in a seminar organized in connection with his 67 death anniversary at Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium of Faculty of Arts building University of Sindh on Saturday. The seminar was organized by Muslim Students Federation (Functional) which was attended by a large number intellectuals, scholars and students. The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr. Nazir A Mughal who was the Chief Guest paid a rich tribute to Soorieh Badsha Shaheed on  his struggle and fight against British Rule and great sacrifice. He said that Sooriah Badshah was a great leader, a visionary scholar and a real lover of Sindh who organized people to fight against the British rule in the sub continent. He said that Pir Subghatullah Shah Sooriah Badshah created a Hur Force and launched Hur movement and added  at that time all political parties and political leaders compromised with British government. The Vice Chancellor also paid tribute to women and children who had also played key role in Hur movement and sacrifice their lives for people rights. He said that Pir Sahib would be remembered in hearts of people and in history and added that youth would follow his footprints for his commitment, peace loving and quality leadership. The Vice Chancellor announced establishment of Sooriah Badshah Pir Subghtullah Shah Shaheed Chair in the University and said research would be conducted for Promotion of great struggle of  Pir Sahid. The Vice Chancellor while announcing establishment of Pir Subghatullah Shah Shaheed Sooriah Badshah Foundation in the University and pointed out that  foundation would provide financial assistance to poor and meritorious students for their education and requested Government to provide funds for the foundation. He appealed Jam Madad Ali opposition leader in Sindh Assembly to discuss this issue of foundation in the Assembly and also funds for foundation and said that with their support and with support of people of Sindh the University will be able to produce future leaders of Sindh and Pakistan who will follow foot prints of Sooriah Badshah. Opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Jam Madad Ali speaking on this occasion lauded services of Pir Sughatullah Shah Shaheed and thanked the University Vice Chancellor for this seminar on a great leader and  a great lover of Sindh. He said that sacrifice of Pir Subghatullah Shah Shaheed for Sindh and Pakistan will always be remembered and added that young generation by organizing such important seminar proved that they understand message of Sooriah Badshah. He said that resolution in assembly will be moved for inclusion of a subject on the life and struggle of Pir  Subghatullah Shah Shaeed in syllabi.
Sindh Chief Minister’s Advisor Mr. Imtiaz Shaikh said that Pir Sahib was a great leader of many qualities who preferred to sacrifice his life instead to compromise with British.
He said that it is our duty that we must remember our Hero’s who rendered their services for people and society that our youth can get awareness about their services. Mr.Shaiklh underlined need for inclusion of a chapter on Pir Saheb’s life in syllabi at school, college and University level. On this occasion Ustad Nizamani, Juman Bhatti, Dr.Khair Muhammad Narejo, Muhammad Bachal Narejo expressing their views paid tribute to Pir Sahib Shaheed. The seminar was also attended by Nawab Rashid Ali Khan, Dr. Mumtaz Bhutto, Dr. Tanweer Junejo, Mr. Muhammad Hussain Shaikh, Prof. Qalandar Shah Lakyari, Madam Amar Sindhu and others.

The University of Sindh has launched shuttle bus service at its Allama I.I.Kazi Campus Jamshoro to facilitate boys and girls students who visits various institutes and departments as well as offices of Director Admissions, Controller of Examinations or other offices located at administration building of the University.
The Director Students Affairs (DSA) Professor Bashir Ahmed Channer has also issued a circular on Friday to inform the students through their concerned teaching institutes and departments and also notified routes for the shuttle bus service. According to Circular shuttle bus will ply from different routs which  would cover Administration Building via  Marui Girls Hostels, Institute of Sindhology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Microbiology, Central Library,  Zero point, Faculty of Arts, all departments of  Faculty of Natural Sciences and will an ended at AC-II building. It is further notified that shuttle bus service will be available for all boys and girls students of the University from 9.00 am to 2.00pm.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof.Dr. Nazir A.Mughal has said that Research Cell will be established in the University to produce quality research for boost up of Industries in collaboration with Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the Country.
The Vice Chancellor disclosed this while presiding over Final Ph.D seminar of research scholar Kari Abdul Basit on topic “Critical Analysis of Human Psychology in the light of Islamic Teachings” under the Faculty of Islamic Studies on Thursday. The seminar was arranged at multimedia Centre of Institute of Information and Communication Technology which was also attended by large number scholars. Appreciating research work of scholar, Vice Chancellor directed Director Graduates Studies to ensure the submission of thesis to his office 3 days before of   final seminar. He said that Ph.D program will be introduced in the University through course work to meet the international standards and added that HEC has already set framework for Ph.D under 18 credit hourse course work but it was not implemented in earlier. He said that funds allocated for M.Phil program in those areas having less importance in job market will be utilized for research under supervision of research cell. He said that a sustainable liaison will be created between the University and Chamber of Commerce and Industries and research will be produced in certain areas to be identified by Industries to raise production for benefit to the society and added that top Professors will be engaged in the research cell. He further pointed out that under new introduced research program Ph.D program of 18 credit hours after its completion, the candidates will be tested with comprehensive examination and after qualifying of examination the candidates will be allowed to start research. He said that candidate will defend his research in a general seminar and will appear in viva voce examination to be conducted by panel of experts on basis of research. The Vice Chancellor underlined research methodology, introduction of topic, conclusion and recommendation chapters in the thesis and said that these are essential and key sections of research. The research scholar Kari Abdul Basit highlighted his research work while senior Professors and scholars asked the questions from  researcher about his research.
The Dean Faculty of Islamic Studies Dr. Sanaullah Bhutto, Director Institute of Information and Communication Technology Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili, Director Graduates Studies Dr. Muhammad Raees, Dr. S.M.Saeed, Dr. Hafiz Munir Ahmed, Dr. Anwar Khan and others scholars were present on the occasion.
