First formal meeting to discuss arrangements about making functional Sindh University Campus at Mirpurkhas was convened on Wednesday which also reviewed the administrative measures and requirements for the new Campus. The meeting was presided over by Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Mr. Mazharul Haq Siddiqui while Pro Vice Chancellor of Sindh University Campus at Mirpurkhas Prof. Dr. Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar, Registrar Mr. Muhammad Saleh Rajar, Director Planning and Development Muhammad Ali Roshan, Project Director Ahmed Ali Abassi, Director Finance M.M.Siddiqui and others attended the meeting.

The Pro Vice Chancellor presented a report about his recent visit to Campus and informed that new building of the campus would fulfill the initial requirements.Dr. Panhwar further informed about his visit of the land to be acquired for the construction of building for the Campus and meeting with DCO Mirpurkhas and other functionaries.The meeting discussed procedure of admissions, publication of catalogue and draft of advertisement for admissions. Director Finance informed the meeting that a separate bank challan for new campus at Mirpurkhas has been developed and also opened bank account.

A four members committee under convenership of Pro Vice Chancellor was also constituted which comprises Director Institute of Information and Communication Technology Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili, Project Director, Director Finance and Purchase Stores Officer. The committee would look-after immediate need and would provide facilities required towards making fully functional the campus as soon as possible. The meeting also discussed the posting of staff at the campus from the University with their consent belongs to Mirpurkhas jurisdiction. It is pointed out that admissions to Sindh University Campus at Mirpurkhas will commence from next month in five disciplines initially in MBA, Computer Science, Information Technology, Geology and Commerce.

The University has allocated merit seats on district-wise for admissions which includes 48 seats for BBA while 44 seats in each discipline of Computer Science, Information Technology, Geology and Commerce which includes 8 seats on female Quota.

The Controller of Examinations University of Sindh has notified on Wednesday that semester examination of BCS, BCIT, BBA and MBA in public and private institutes and colleges affiliated with the University will be conducted in first week of September, 2009.

The last date for submission of examinations forms by candidates at their concerned Institutes and colleges are here by fixed as August, 31, 2009.

The Registrar University of Sindh has notified new timings on Wednesday for teaching and administrative departments to be observed from 1st Ramzan Sharif. Timings of administration during all working days (excluding Friday) will be from 8.30 am to 2.00pm and 8.30 am to 1.00 pm on Friday. The timings of teaching departments during all working days (excluding
Friday) will be from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm and from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm on Friday.
