The Controller of Examinations University of Sindh has announced On Monday that date for filling of examination forms for M.A, M.Sc, M.Com previous and final at Post Graduate Colleges under annual examination 2008 Â is hereby extended up to Augsut,25 with late fee Rs.500/- while from August,26 to August,31 the examination forms would be accepted with late fee of Rs.1000/-
The Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia, Trigustono Supriyanto visited Area Study Center Fareast and Southeast Asia University of Sindh on Monday and met with its Director Dr. Praveen Shah. The Consulate General Indonesia presented publications of his consulate to Dr. Praveen Shah for the area study centre library. He appreciated academic and research activities of the centre and pledged to visit to area study centre in September and would deliver a lecture on Pakistan- Indonesia Relations.
August 24: Semester system would be introduced in post graduate degree colleges affiliated with the University of Sindh and before starting of session ,all academic activities including admissions, classes and examination would be notified in academic calendar for the information to the students. This was decided in a high level meeting of representatives of the affiliated degree colleges and University administration, constituted to discuss matters regarding affiliated degree colleges on Monday. The meeting was presided over by Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Mr. Mazharul Haq Siddiqui while Ali Asghar Baloch Regional Director of Colleges Education Hyderabad, Abdul Aziz Panhwar Regional Director of Colleges Mirpurkhas, Prof. Liaquat Aziz, Registrar of the University Mr. M.Saleh Rajar, Controller of Examination Dr. Parvez Pathan and Inspector of College Dr. Imdad Ali Brohi attended the meeting.
The meeting has decided that five post graduate degree colleges at initial stage would be selected from Hyderabad to introduce semester system in post graduate classes and a proposal in this connection would be submitted to the Academic Council through Board of Studies for its approval. The meeting also discussed the remuneration to college teachers and release of 25% fees to the college teachers from the registration fee for B.A and M.A. The meeting also agreed that on shortage of any document required for the registration in the college as well as with examination forms would not be accepted.
The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Mr. Mazharul Haq Siddiqui has said that teachers are most important section of society and they must play role in bringing change in society by educating the youth.
He was addressing University and College Teachers in closing ceremony of one month training workshop organized by Faculty of Education University of Sindh in collaboration with Higher Education  Commission – National Academy of Higher Education on Professional Competency Enhancement at Elsa Kazi Campus Hyderabad on Friday.
The Vice Chancellor said that training  is essential part of the education system and training of teachers is an important to enhance their professional  capabilities with fresh knowledge . He said that it is also essential that knowledge and information acquired by teachers through trainings should transform  to other teachers as well students  that process of learning and teaching continued . He said that University teachers are not only to teach but they have  to work hard to open the vistas for the future through result oriented research.
He said that real resources are human resources and for the enhancement of human resources such trainings play a key role professional fields and added that the University would continue make efforts to organize more trainings for the teachers. He said that it is also necessary that teachers at every level should pay attention to their students for  education and guidance to make them a good citizen that they can serve the nation.
Prof. Dr. Praveen Munshi Dean Faculty of Education said that the Faculty has been arranging different workshops to provide training to the teachers at University and college level. She said that teacher trainings are most essential through out worldwide to up-to-date knowledge and to trained teachers with the new teaching methods. She pointed out that in this workshop 34 teachers from different Institutes and  departments of the University and affiliated colleges participated. She said that during one month training, 70 technical sessions were conducted and 22 resource persons engaged to provide training.Representative of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Muhammad Ghaznafar Bhatti said that the HEC – National Academy of Higher Education has organized traning workshops to enhance professional competency of the teachers and added that about 4000 teachers from different Universities and colleges of the Country had attended the training under this  program. He said that those teachers who participated in this workshop would be master trainers and they would be helpful for traning to other teachers. On this occasion Dr. Imamuddin Khoso, Prof. Shakeela Shah, Prof. Marvi Panhwar, Prof. Hakim Ali Mahesar and others also expressed their views. The Vice Chancellor on this occasion  distributed appreciation certificates among resource persons, organizers and participating teachers.

First formal meeting to discuss arrangements about making functional Sindh University Campus at Mirpurkhas was convened on Wednesday which also reviewed the administrative measures and requirements for the new Campus. The meeting was presided over by Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Mr. Mazharul Haq Siddiqui while Pro Vice Chancellor of Sindh University Campus at Mirpurkhas Prof. Dr. Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar, Registrar Mr. Muhammad Saleh Rajar, Director Planning and Development Muhammad Ali Roshan, Project Director Ahmed Ali Abassi, Director Finance M.M.Siddiqui and others attended the meeting.
The Pro Vice Chancellor presented a report about his recent visit to Campus and informed that new building of the campus would fulfill the initial requirements.Dr. Panhwar further informed about his visit of the land to be acquired for the construction of building for the Campus and meeting with DCO Mirpurkhas and other functionaries.The meeting discussed procedure of admissions, publication of catalogue and draft of advertisement for admissions. Director Finance informed the meeting that a separate bank challan for new campus at Mirpurkhas has been developed and also opened bank account.
A four members committee under convenership of Pro Vice Chancellor was also constituted which comprises Director Institute of Information and Communication Technology Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili, Project Director, Director Finance and Purchase Stores Officer. The committee would look-after immediate need and would provide facilities required towards making fully functional the campus as soon as possible. The meeting also discussed the posting of staff at the campus from the University with their consent belongs to Mirpurkhas jurisdiction. It is pointed out that admissions to Sindh University Campus at Mirpurkhas will commence from next month in five disciplines initially in MBA, Computer Science, Information Technology, Geology and Commerce.
The University has allocated merit seats on district-wise for admissions which includes 48 seats for BBA while 44 seats in each discipline of Computer Science, Information Technology, Geology and Commerce which includes 8 seats on female Quota.

August 17: The Controller of Examinations University of Sindh has extended last date up to August,25 for submission of application forms for college side as external candidate in B.A Pass part-I and Part-II and M.A Previous and Final under annual examination 2009 here on Monday. The Controller of Examinations has further notified the schedule for submission of examination forms for B.A Pass part-I and Part-II and M.A previous and final under annual examination 2009 and fixed September, 14, 2009 as last date for submission of examination forms without late fee. The failure candidates of M.A previous and final of 2008 are also advised to submit their examination forms for annual examination 2009.

The Vice Chancellors of the Universities of Sindh while expressing concern on law and order problem at the Campuses submitted a report to the Governor Sindh/ Chancellor Universities of Sindh urging to intervene and take prompt action against persons involved in indiscipline which causing hindrance in a peaceful educational environment at the Universities. The Vice Chancellors of four public sector Universities in a meeting held on Tuesday at office of the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh also reviewed the law and order problems at different Universities and to discuss situation after clash of two groups of students resulted in death of a student of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro at MUET on Friday.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mazharul Haq Siddiqui Vice Chancellor University of Sindh, Dr. A.Q.K Rajput Vice Chancellor of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Dr Noshad Ahmed Shaikh Vice Chancellor Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Dr. A.Q Mughal Vice Chancellor Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam and Dr. Rafia Ahmed Shaikh Pro-Vice Chancellor University of Sindh. The meeting of Vice Chancellors noted that there was no action on the part of Police and Rangers as they are deployed for the purpose only to control the law and order situation and make Campuses free from such elements. The Vice Chancellors also realized the ineffectiveness of the Police and Rangers personnel in the present situation towards law and order and restoring to delay tactics in taking action against the culprits by the Police Department. The meeting unanimously decided to recommend to the Governor Sindh/Chancellor of the Universities in Sindh for the arrest of culprits and award exemplary punishment to involved in murder of the student of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) and also recommended that strict security measures be taken on the part of Police and Rangers Personnel for the restoration of peaceful atmosphere.
